Quick question, if you plan on running full exhaust, is it worth buying the carb kit and ask a local tuner to adjust it for the mods or should i buy the tuner kit and buy a Ecutek and tune from one of the known tuners (moto-east, delicious tuning, etc) and just get it checked by the local tuner on the dyno?

Just an FYI the carb tune is locked and cannot be edited. So the rom wont be of any use to a tuner. Also most tuners don't like adjusting tunes they prefer to start from scratch.

Do you need a CARB sticker where you're located for emissions?

i don't need a CARB approval, it is for a race car... i just thought it would make a nice starting point but if you say it can't be edited, i am happy i asked...

Problem is i don't really have any tuner that is used to work with the FRS around or at least, that i trust... So i thought having a tune that was almost spot on would have helped the tuner i will choose.

I might be moving to California if I buy the kit without the CARB tune can I later purchase the CARB tune and get a sticker?

Gotta love it.

I almost want to ask if they won't actually test their car because it may perform the way it did at Import Tuner's FR shootout last year. Their car threw multiple belts, and put down a slower time than the CSG BRZ does NA with a pro driver. Granted, different tires and temperatures, but not enough to account for the difference.

You're the slow Stig remember? Lol

Well I commend your manhood and willingness to offer fair comparisons and stand behind "who you are". Now whether they'll actually show up who knows...

Their kit has some things but the guys who run the show have a bad attitude.
When I called JR they were helpfull, explained things above and beyond. When I called KW to simply enquire of TC controlled oil coolers I was told it was a non concern and I could figure out a solution myself and to this date they haven't sorted a solution but yet brag of a superior design??

After reading that entire thread, it seems gmsii is more about excuses rather than answers. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that he will never agree to the driver and/or testing. Then he has the nerve to insult Mike and CSG. What a classy company.

Also, is it true that Rotrex doesn't recommend cogged/tooth belts? If so, please refer to my avatar.

Sometimes, belt slip is a GOOD thing. The kit could have been designed with a tighter tensioner, but you want it to still be able to slip in the case something catastrophic happens.

Typical engineering practice is to assume 3% belt slip, iirc. I'm not an engineer by trade though.

Here's an analogy. When drag racing, if you bog your engine and the tires hook.... you'll probably break something. But, if you get wheelspin, all that excess energy, instead of being absorbed by the drivetrain (transmission, driveshaft, differential, axles), gets burned up as tire smoke.

Admittedly, Billy and Craig are on a whole different level of driving from me... although when it's platform specific, I got a shot. If you were to put us in random cars, I'd get slaughtered. Billy has easily 25x my experience, and Craig 3x that of Billy.
