This is a really inspirational project, Nige! Please keep posting pics and documenting things, because there are many people who will be following in your footsteps (in a few years for me).

How did the carbon roof project go?

I've done some fiberglass and carbon panels, and this video series has alot of the subtle details required to get it right. Parting flanges, draft angles, puttying over holes, mold touch-up/polish, vacuum bag folds/taping:
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgKvDw1E60E"]How to Make a Carbon Fiber Car Bonnet/Hood - Part 1/3 - YouTube[/ame]

If you go through the effort of making molds for all of these panels (widebody and roof), you might consider making a few spares to sell. The Seibon roof overlay panel isn't really a good fit for race cars... but this would be something people might pay a premium for.

I have already made the molds for the arches and roof. I haven't yet had a go at the carbon roof as it's too cold here at the moment!!

Not sure I would sell panels though, that's illegal isn't it??

You can't actively advertise, talk about pricing, or organize the sale of your products in the main areas of the forums without being a registered FT86Club vendor. The Member Classifieds area should be OK for small quantity sales, though.

When in doubt, ask your friendly neighborhood admin.

You guys are too kind.

I'm gonna tease you all now.. I've started on the air jack and big cage install... pics soon. I'm also going to do a full review of the air jacks, just because they are so nice for the money.. AP quality at Asian prices. Made by JLS, or Listers motorsport here in the UK.

I just realised, I forgot to show you all the pics of my beautiful dry sump pan, CNC machined from billet aluminium.

It's so light and beautifully made

And... the lovely custom CP pistons showed up. These are custom made for my DI delete engine.

Thanks for looking in, you guys really do give great feedback and keep me focussed on this mammoth deal!!

I promised some Airjack stuff, so here's a quick few shots to show you what I'm up to over here in rainy old England.

This is a pair of cups and tubes I've turned up to fit the jacks into and weld into the cars frame.

Jigged..

Welded together..

The holes in the tubes are just there for lightness as the tubes are welded into the frame in very strong points, just in front of the rear wheels. The cups are made so that the large knurled nut on the bottom of the jack goes into the cup rather than sticks out of the bottom of the car. I will pack them to get then to be level with the lowest point of the car.

Here I've cut the holes in the frame, a tricky job getting the holes top and bottom aligned and perpendicular to the floor...

Then I welded in the tubes and dry fitted the jack.

From underneath..

and inside the car..

Here's how the bottom of my car looks now...

And finally, here's the actual jack itself. Its one part of a big kit which I will review over the Xmas break.. It's an AJ06 from Listers Motorsport.

Thanks for dropping by, hope you like what you see? Any questions... fire away..

This build is absolute madness!

Withe the airjacks its more like a touring car, all you need now is a set of centerlocks and a pit crew!
