Tadasan said in some interview that they went for the boxer so they could keep the low-hood sportscar look while still meeting new pedestrian crash laws. This is actually a big deal, though many cars are now using a system then raises the hood in a pedestrian crash. Look around and you'll see most cars sporting bulbous front ends, proving his point.

Insurance rates have far more to do with the driver than the car. When I asked for quotes on multiple cars from my insurance guy, he pointed out that all the quotes he'd given me before were pretty much the same.

This is true. There is a standard in Europe that requires vehicles' front ends to be at a certain height design so that if you were to hit a pedestrian, there's less likely of a chance of killing them. I have no idea how that works, but that's just how it is. And manufacturers obviously have to meet those standards even if other countries don't have such standards since most manufacturers wouldn't be willing to spend extra money to have vehicles designed just for a specific continent when they can just rebadge and rename them.

I take any report written on the twins, that includes a reference to a Ford Mustang being a better choice, to be biased.

You really can't compare the two.

I wouldn't exactly call my car stock. 0.81g is what it does on the skid pad in stock trim.

I love the car. I love Toyota and Subaru. It's just not what I wanted it to be.

If we all drove the speed limit, wore our seatbelts, and somehow got hypnotized into thinking more like women as far as our risk taking, twin rates would be no different than any other $25k car.
That must not be happening. My son has his FR-S insured through State Farm. He is 24 and has never had an accident or ticket yet last month his insurance rates went up $10 per month. The explanation from State Farm was that the car was reclassified to a higher risk level.

Then why linger over it?

It's like getting to know the person you like. You date them and start to get to know their likes and dislikes, their views, their plans for their future, etc. If they don't turn out to be what you were looking for, you move on.

I just got one for my Lancer and it was traded in for the FRS! I doubt the "demand is high" for it either since the Mitsu lot and every used lot around it have about 5 each just sitting there.
