slammed + driveways = tc on

Anyone have issues with your slammed suspension or coilovers with reduced suspension travel? I have about 3.5" of clearance and have to go up diagonally on almost every driveway. on the very steep ones I end up 3 wheeling it and sets off the traction control all the time. The noise sounds pretty bad. Even if I turn off the tc once the wheel gets airborn the tc comes back on.

That is the car applying the brakes to the wheel in the air so you can still drive forward. Without this the wheel in the air would just spin and you would go nowhere. The only ways i can see to remedy that is to remove the helical LSD and install a plated LSD in its place. Or you could swap your coilovers for some with more droop travel. Either way its not a cheap fix.

The abs module is just turning on the pump and operating some solenoids. Normal operation for an ABS system.

Its certainly a stress on the chassis, long term damage? who's to say. I had a Mini that used to tripod a lot and I put 75k on that car like that with no problems.

I know off road guys will sometime drag the brakes slightly when a wheel comes off the ground. This is for trucks that have LSD's and not lockers, by doing this you slow that spinning wheel making the diff transfer torque to the wheel that still on the ground. ABS obviously doesn't like this and interfere but not be damaged.

If you do the "pedal dance" it won't engage TC, even with a wheel in the air... but like it's already been stated, all you'll do then is spin the wheel in the air and not go anywhere.

Engaging the parking brake a click or two should help get you moving...though that doesn't really seem to be an issue since the TC is working as intended.

I lift the inside rear wheel every single time. Lowered with Eibach sway bars and also have lots of chassis/suspension bracing. Stiff chassis and suspension = dog legging on driveways.

If you get stuck just pull the e-brake up a notch or two and it'll get traction and go.

Parking brake...I'll try that.

Dog legging, that's one I've never heard of.

My rear end is so stiff with the 22mm sway/links that I 3 wheel it coming out of my driveway. I'm only on h&r springs.

I will not upgrade my rear sway bars/get coilovers because of this exact issue. It was annoying in the STI and it'll be annoying in the BRZ.
