It's nothing to do with engine.

You really need a 4.88 to make it worthwhile on AT.

Or just get UEL headers and a decent tune and you have a very drivable power band.

I have st2 el on my car) Final gear 4.566 i bought for my self, i have MT. But want to sell it to guy with AT. Need money for a turbo))) I afraid that this guy will take a problem with 4.556 . Many people tell me about trasmisson brains gone to crazy due 4.566

I don't know personally. The transmission will still rev match because the ratios are exactly the same. It's not really any different than adding a turbo - both are just more torque at the wheels. Nothing to do with ecu though, except perhaps need to update gear determination threshold which is likely only for dash.

This will be my next mod, before I go supercharged even.

I found a reputable shop that will do all the work for $350 if I bring them the parts. So...not too bad IMO.

I've debated a lot on 4.55 vs 4.88 and have pretty much settled on 4.88. Why not?

Wayno, do you have the AT with 4.88's?

Hmmm its possible it could upset auto trans. The wheel sensors appear to be used for speed sensing as when you change final drive diff ratio speed still reads correctly.

Dont know if auto trans has other sensors in trans that sense rotational speed ect that manuall does not if so it may get upset as you suggest.

best to find someone who has changed final drive in auto maybe post in engine exhaust transmission thread

thanks

do 2 or 3 of light steady throttle or so 2000-7000 rpm runs in 2nd or 3rd

ie slowly let the rpm climb your attempting to keep the ecu in closed loop during the process.

see flashing reset learning link below.

Hey all, just flashed the Stage 2 UEL e85 tune for the first time. I followed the instructions for flashing, it's been 40 miles since flashing and I'm still getting a CEL (Never had one before). I'm still driving below 3.5k, the fuel trims look fine though.

Should I unplug battery/fuse to reset ECU? I searched around and couldn't find anything related so don't flame me if this has been covered

Update: CEL went away, all is good and I'm loving the e85 tune!

If you have auto transmission it was probably P0700, you can read it with oft.

This happens a lot during flashing as ecu and auto trans computer loose communications, it goes away after a couple of drive cycles or you can reset it with an obd scan tool or similar.

So that's the quickest way OK thanks steve99. another thing say I zero out the closed loop fueling . won't that make it run open loop all the time that's what I read up on the ROM raider page and if closed loop isn't there won't the map just reach the target of the open loop fueling and be good to go ? Instead of learning fuel trims all the time .Which is what makes the flashes slow

If you maf scaling is good your long term fuel trims will be low like less than 5% so fuel trim learning is very quick or not needed

and it wont be knocking if tune is good, most tunes will set IAM to 1 initial to avoid waiting for IAM to get to 1 .
