Lol n actual recall for this? I remember many years ago when i saw it on my Uncles Neon, I thought it was actually funny to have the internal boot release?

He worked for the dealer and mentioned that it was an american safety requirement.

So mafia style kidnappings and boot lockups are common in the US I take it?

Yea, in other countries they kill them before they put them in the boot

America, land of the... alive? and hopefully free?? as long as you can pull that freedom trunk release

Maybe they are lobbying into maybe getting a Ferrari 458 filmed in Hangover 4...

Then again, Chow is borderline "Human"... he could manage to get out of it easy peasy

I can't help but think that if you've allowed yourself to be stuffed into the trunk of a car, maybe you deserve to be there.

Also,

Presumably then, when in motion, you can successfully release the trunk from the inside, allowing for a full Mannix-grade escape-and-roll from the speeding Ferrari.

Which frankly sounds a lot more exciting, anyway.
Awesome.

I remember when we were homogating the Mosler MT900 for the US, NHTSA required that trunk release, and we had to include the child seat mounts on the passenger side. I remember Warren Mosler asking me, "Are you sure we don't need the child seat mounts on both sides?" Some of the rules are a little over the top, especially for a niche car.

Homologation. I had to look up the spelling.

I think there should be chair releases in the seats and child anchors in the trunk.

It's a $200k+ Ferrari, an inescapable trunk isn't an option!
