The 2.3T model will be interesting, especially if they could get it at the 3200lb mark. And the new front/rear suspension will be cool too. It basically blows way ahead of it's main competition, the Genesis and Camero, now I feel. Expect to see a lot of these on the roads in the near future.

Not a chance of hitting that weight.

Yeah, the 2.3T model is very interesting....

The Ecoboost pricing is comparable to the twins... right now, a '14 brz limited is going for under invoice ($27k), but I don't think we'll see invoice pricing ($26,910) on the new ecoboost premium mustangs for awhile.

Weight is an issue, but with an extra 100 plus hp that shouldn't be a big issue.

The devil is in the details... if the mustang still weighs in at 3400lbs or so, then meh, but if they somehow have gotten it down to 3200lbs or so....

FYI: order guide is here:

Doh! Glad I knew better than to wait on empty promises. 2-300lbs heavier than the last one!

No wonder they haven't released weights officially, it's battling the Camaro and Challenger for the fat pig award.

My biggest debate right now is the fact I want to go FI then there's the 430 HP V8 5.0 GT Premium.

Thinking the Mustang would be more reliable at that horsepower point than throwing on a GTX3076r turbo to reach that. Not to mention that would put my car in the same cost range as a GT Premium. =/

I miss the power, but the FR-S definitely is awesome in gas mileage and getting me around as a daily driver, but that 5.0 sound..... amazing.

I was super excited about the Mustang until the final design and numbers came out.

Then I saw they made it a huge ugly heavy @ss car. I mean its bigger than the last gen version and gained weight on every model but one.

If they made a sedan, I might buy it. As is, a Camaro with the track package looks far superior for flying pig status.

I just read the review on TopGear's site. They had a small paragraph in there specifically comparing it to the GT86 and said that the four banger version of the new mustang would "smash its face in"...

Thought it was interesting.

"Its an altogether bigger faster car"

Ya I agree, not saying that it is, I'm sure it's quite a bit heavier too. Just found it interesting that they specifically called out a GT86 to compare it with.

The reviews...

Read them all and they are a bit of a mixed bag. Improvements cited all around (except for the straight line acceleration) but there's some disagreement amongst reviewers on the calibre of the S550's handling. The EB may have better handling but the engine has generally not impressed.

Compared to the first wave of reviews for the C7, this batch is definitely more tepid.

Read the reviews.

To sum up what I've gathered: Mustang handling is nice buts its performance numbers are underwhelming. Why? Because the platform gained weight. The ecoboost is decent but really not all that exciting.
So the Mustang like many other cars is an overweight huge pig and all the potential that was there in concept is not coming through in reality.
By the time you equip many of these models they are not as cheap as you'd think.
Well equipped eco boost models are $35+
Well equipeed gt models are $45+

Also that rear end is ugly as FOOOOOOOOOK!
