I wonder if a wire brush on a power drill would be enough to clean up the insides?

I just wanted to update this thread.

We have begun the processing of removing any excess material or buildup in our intake pipe. If you received a pipe you ere not happy with with please email us at sales@supetekindustries.com with your order # and information. We will honor an exchange.

PLEASE NOTE: Going forward there should be ZERO concerns as all new orders will ship with inlet pipes that have no issues.

We thank you all for your feedback and support and look forward to more install pics!!!!

OP, did you cut the coupling on the Airbox side? Looks shorter than the one on the TB. I installed mine earlier and was considering cutting it shorter. Both were the same length and the one on the Airbox side sits a little awkward at the bend.

Thanks for your reply.

The revised version we are shipping now includes one coupler that is slightly resized for visual purposes. We have gotten a few requests and have updated it. If you dont feel like trimming yours shoot me an email and I will send you a revised one. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Having read the review this seemed like the ideal intake for what i was looking for right now. After doing some research on other intakes and i decided to buy it and take a shot at it and see if it is really all that great. Supertek was more than helpful with the many questions i had in regards to the intake and it's a really nice piece especially for the price. I doubt there is any gains from me installing their intake and filter but it definitely cleaned up the engine and the car is more responsive...

I'll be placing an order Friday.
Any chance the Q300 is going on sale in the near future? Cause I need one of those too ;-)

Received the updated (shorter) coupling and new intake tube (with extra processing to ensure no more material build-up) a couple weeks ago, and finally got around to installing the intake tube on my car today!

The updated intake tube was pretty much perfect right out of the box, so hats off to Supertek for sorting out those teething problems and also honouring an exchange. The updated (shortened) airbox coupling was still a little too long for the pipe to sit comfortably in my opinion, so I cut it down further until it was 50mm long.

Installation was straight forward ; hardest part was removing the existing sound tube all the way to the firewall, especially that one stubborn clip attaches the hose to the chassis. Brute force solved the issue and I managed to get everything out intact with no damage.

Butt dyno suggests little change in power from stock setup, but I hadn't driven the car in 2-3 weeks so my calibration is out :P Setup sounds great - no unwanted booming resonances at cruising rpms, with a healthy amount of natural induction noise above 4000rpm.

All in all I'm stoked with the outcome - to me, it's the way it should have come from factory!
