I was like, hm, wouldn't it be cool if your ECU could calculate effective power (meaning power that actually moved the vehicle -- so if you're spinning you're not winning). And voila, another feature is born.

Just a little FRS on E40 fuel at 13psi. Given the car made 460ish on E76 on 15-16psi, it's pretty damn close (bear in mind "effective" power, some is lost through tire slip, etc, before the vehicle is accelerated).

You can see me switching gears and putting around...

its been money well spent for my build. i wish it did it from the start rather than dealing with e-tunes, flashing, not being able to alter anything on my ecutek tunes, etc.

This. So much this. No matter how good a factory ECU based system is (and ECUTek is quite good), it's never GREAT. With the MoTeC you knock down all the hurdles and finally take control over what you want to do. It just doesn't compare, and until someone's experienced it themselves they just can't comprehend it. Hence lots of "it works bro" keyboard warriors online. A carburetor works too bro!

I added the ability to do some factoring to smooth out the HP/TQ generated by the calculations (you can still view instantaneous).

Then I tossed her on the dyno for some touch up and turned her up a notch. Looks like I'm bottle-necking at the 2.5" overpipe finally, the VE/fueling is starting to show it.

Here's a fun comparison. The only thing different in these 2 plots is I turned on the port injection. On the plot that was jiggity (solid) the DI injector was being run at 7.7ms. As you can tell the motor absolutely does not like it.

You personally have more faith in the factory rods than I will ever. One thing is for sure is I didn't see any gauges. I had a hard time finding a mount and gauge combo until I found my CravenSpeed steering column mounted Pods. I only use the left pod but you can run 2 if need be.

I'm not sure if you're still in the market. If covers the pointless analog speedo paired with the AEM failsafe boost/AF gauge.

Why would I need gauges?

You don't need anything, but more of peace of mind when using it as a daily driver like me. I got mine to kill my ignition when my A/F or Boost is out of its programmed limits.

I think you're missing the point... LOL. My car is on my own custom MoTeC programming. It's doing anything and everything you can imagine and much more than some gauges which I find quite ugly will ever do for you. I've ripped all that garbage out of all our other cars when I've installed MoTeC systems in them as well haha.

I added some factoring to give you a more smoothed out view today. As the instantaneous calculations have lots of spikes (for obvious reasons). How much to factor is set by the user (and obviously factoring too much can "lower" the power estimate -- but hey, it's just an estimate!)
