I have been testing the same this past week. Oil temps and charge temps are under control with the oil cooler in front of the intercooler. I would say the oil temp plays a larger factor in performance than the charge temps.

The only issue I have with the Perrin cooler is that you guys need to design a protective grill for in front of it. I am having one custom made but it's at a prime location for damage.

Did you get a chance to get it to a dyno yet? I know my "get it running and functional" map kicked my mpg right in the teeth, about 24mpg, had it like that for 2 days, and I was babying it. After the dyno tune the mpg is back up to 30-28.

I know the instructions on the Perrin oil cooler say to mount it in that spot, but they probably weren't thinking in terms of an intercooler being mounted directly behind it when they wrote those instructions.
I've always wondered, is there any easy way to mount the Perrin intercooler up top if you wanted to use a scoop to feed cool air to it?

I agree we tested it already on the track with the oil cooler on the front does not effect the temperatures at all.

i have not yet. i'm thinking about doing it in about two to three weeks. i have family from japan over right now so that comes first. after that, i'll be heading to the dyno and posting some goodies. hoping for some good numbers.

my mpg is currently at 22.9 but you can probably guess why hahahaha. 1. i love hearing it spool . 2. i love hearing the bpv 3. i love the power = bye bye fuel haha

A larger capacity oil pan (~8 qts.) would negate the need for an oil cooler on most applications.

If he got ahold of visconti right before the fire it is prolly pushing 250-260, if he's still using the same tune he started with its between 230-240. Or maybe hes gone with a different tuner because his honey moon is over with visconti and he realizes his car isn't in safe hands... Then he's prolly making 260+ with out over reving the engine.

Disagree here..
Intake air temps would make more of a performance factor than oil temps..
You want a hot engine and cool intake air for optimal engine output.
Oil temps need to be in check for reliablity.. Cooler intake air allows more fuel to
Be added for more power.. And helps keep keeps detonation in check

I was referring to the Vortech kit with perrin oil cooler. Oil temps effected my setup more than charge temps in my case on the track.

Did you notice any ignition timing being pulled/extra fuel added when oil temps got to a certain threshold?

On track timing reduced -1.
