Well I guess my post kinda explains why I wouldn't want any of those brands now doesn't it.. thanks for the truck education though.

I don't like boats, what can I say. ?¿

HINT: Driving experience matters to me. I doubt there is a truck/SUV I could afford or even be willing to buy that would give me what I want.

Well, unless you needed a truck of course, then the driving experience would be different and a car won't do.

I have both (well I have a Suburban, which is a truck in SUV clothing) and it is definitely a different experience but when I need it, which is just about every weekend and at least 6 full weeks a year, it's the perfect ride.

I rented a jeep on a vacation last year. Unless you lived in a continuous Blizzard I don't see the point of owning one. I'm gonna scoop up my fathers FJ when he's bored of it. Somehow it seems to he worse on gas and has a tiny ass tan but it drives great and those roof bars are awesome.

Well complaining that a truck drives like a truck would seem to indicate some education on how they work.

I have heard of a whole shitload of guys that have had to spend $5000 to replace engines in their twins so they must all be junk.
They Jeep crowd are all over in their forum saying how stupid Japanese sports cars are. Jeeps fill about 4 spots in the top 20 best selling cars last year. The top three best selling were all pickups. Just because we don’t see the point doesn’t make them junk or useless.

Most new trucks ride as nice as any SUV now as long as you don't get anything too heavy.

Our F350 rides great with 1000kg in the back

Oh, we just blew an engine in one. It had 350k+ on it and thousands of idling hours. It served us well RIP...

Here is the original post title: Current well known car brands that you would never buy

I have to honestly say, none! I mean, I have owned many brands over the years, AMC, Ford, GM, Triumph, Fiat, VW, Jeep, Renault, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz, Suzuki, Toyota, Scion, and a couple more that escape me right now. All served a purpose for the time in my life. I never bought something I couldn't afford, and none of them let me down. If I won the lottery, I would have a lot of fun trying out the more expensive ones. But to answer which marque I would never buy - I really can't think of one. All right, maybe Ford - the one I had was a Pinto....it kind of ruined me on that brand for quite a few years - but I'd be willing to try one now....that Mustang is pretty nice for what it's designed for, and they make a pretty mean truck.

Even when I clearly label it as a bias?

Any vehicle is what the owner makes of it. I'd buy anything that was a decent deal and take good care of it.

I wouldn't buy a Ford. I've sat in several, and they all have awful seats. GMs just often have awful seats, but not always. Caddilacs are fine. The last Buick I sat in was AWFUL.

Another Subaru

Ok maybe I’m extra harsh ....

I’m thinking of picking up a used fiat 500e as daily. Cough, wish me luck.

I loved and miss our 500e. A fun, fun car. Almost as fun as the FRS, no kidding. I looked at a few of them recently, but I'm thinking Tesla M3P will be more practical, safer, faster, and more comfortable for freeway driving.
