I'm using this one. When I last check, it was made by Shell:

Back in the day I worked in my dad's service station, and we sold a product that came in a small can, maybe a couple of ounces, can't remember who made it but it was called upper cylinder lube. It was just some light weight oil, and the very propular petroleum distillates. The old timers seemed to buy it a lot.

petroleum distillates = the garbage left over from making fuels

Don't put it in your motor...

Just gave this a shot today. Ten minutes in the engine felt overall "better". Quieter at idle, more smooth acceleration, and overall better feeling when in the higher end of the band.

So here's my experience with the tc-w3....

The car is definitely quieter. There are times when I don't hear the crickets at all. Earlier today I was driving with my music off and the car was completely quiet. I almost thought it wasn't on. But then right as I was pulling into my parking spot the crickets started up again...

So, in conclusion, I believe the tc-w3 does help quiet everything down a bit. Sometimes I have no crickets, sometimes I have very few crickets and like someone said earlier it sounds like the crickets are dying, and sometimes the crickets are just as loud as they ever were. The tc-w3 definitely does help quiet the crickets but it doesn't get rid of them for good. However, I will probably continue to use it as I believe it is worth the price and the slight hassle.

bump.

104k miles on my engine and I still haven't tried this yet, but keep coming back to this thread every summer when the crickets are in full force.

Post vids. You guys are providing every anecdotal claim except audio / visual proof that this quiets the engine.

I use this in the summer months. IIRC it's less than 10 bucks for the small container. It's not going to hurt anything so give it a try.

When they make a two stroke Twin I will add two stroke oil. Until that time I will leave crap out of my fuel.

Funny, as soon as I start using Petro 94 mine chirps like crazy in my 2015. I only use it when tracking.

Not a single chirp on Shell 91.

I was using 91, switched to 94 for the same reason. kept getting 94 for a while after and noticed that they completely stopped. It took a few weeks, but it stopped.
