I have a quick question if anyone can chime in, I have a D3PE Tuning catch can ready to be installed but I was just trying to figure out where exactly to put the check valve that is currently in the hose that goes from the intake manifold to the pcv valve. Do I put the check valve in the hose going from the intake manifold to the catch can or from the hose going from the pcv valve to the catch can?

With the D3PE catch can you don't need a check valve anywhere as it is a vent to atmosphere catch can.

You don't want the intake manifold hooked up to anything. With a dual vented can like the d3pe you hook both the breather and the pcv line into the can, capping the manifold and intake. If you were to run the line from the manifold to the can, you would have a vacuum/boost leak from hell. You could install a check valve between the manifold and the can, but even then it would still be a vacuum leak at idle.

The D3PE catch can comes with instructions and a cap for the intake manifold.

Thanks, I went home during lunch and just saw the catch can had arrived but I haven't gotten a chance to look at everything and the instructions. I'm just anxious to do the install, I hate having to wait to install new parts lol

The interesting question becomes what happens to your logs as the intake manifold is under vaccum. Altering that and the PCV system will effect. Will be curious to see what happens when you cap the manifold. Make sure you log idle etc. before and after.

I noticed my idle smoothed out a bunch and part throttle driveability got a lot better when I capped the manifold, but my car is tuned with the turbo so not sure what itd do on a stock car. I haven't heard of anyone having issues.

That's a great question - those stickers usually are traceable to the owner/serial numbers. I've gotten this question a couple times myself, although it's pretty early for people to be pulling them off and selling them.

Just about done with the install, only part that confused me a bit was when it says to cap off the intake pipe nipple if you are N/A but it doesn't state anything else. So I'm assuming you cap off either the hose running to the intake or the nipple coming off the vortech intake box?
