Let's make it a fun trip North. I vote scenic. Happy either way, though.

If you PDX guys are planning to take the scenic route west of I-5, remember there will be roughly TWELVE THOUSAND bicyclists using routes 30, 411, and 603 that Sunday morning July 12th (including myself) on their way to Portland. Now don't get me wrong, I would love to see a bunch of 86s go by, and I would be hollering at you, but I don't think you guys will want to deal with the potential hazards of a crowd of two wheelers for miles and miles.
Just a heads up.
Pete

target rich environment

Saw @HATED1's posts below and change my vote. I-5 is the prudent choice.

I vote straight shot on i5 north. Scenic driving is hard to do with a lot of cars, especially if you start mixing in other traffic

I agree @indesign guys, I have led a lot car "convoys" and I think you guys should do the straightest and quickest route to the Pre-meet location.

You guys will need to save your energy for the event-filled day. I NEED you guys to be there early and on time. It is important that you guys are at the Pre-meet as further instructions and a quick little intro will unfold there!

When the date gets closer I will post the pre-meet destination!

It's only like 2 hours -ish to Olympia from Pdx, I'd imagine we could do it in one go if everyone is good about coming with empty bladders. We can do a single pit stop at a state rest area to avoid red lights.

I call near the front. Two hours is too long to ride behind y'all catless mofos.
