So it looks like I'm not the only one here with a modified EGA. (I still have to finish getting the globe and anchor on mine shaded)

This one was by far the most painful tatt I have. Granted that is because I got it all done in one 9 hour session.

I got the shark part of this one drunk off my ass in the Philippines celebrating my 21st with a bunch of my other Marine friends. The tribal around it I got added when we got back to Okinawa, Japan.

Love your EGA. The eagle looks awesome. I can't wait to see how it comes out.

It's the metamorphosis of the koi to the dragon (ryu). On my forearm is a koi, upper arm is a koi that is beginning to show dragon horns and some of the facial features, and then dragon on the chest. I went with both water and wind with some momiji (Japanese Maple) leaves for background. I am currently at about hour 13 with about another 6-8 to fill in scales with black and do all the color. My artist only likes to do a couple hours at a time so he is at his best.

I love the Japanese style tattoo and am planning for a full body suit. Next year will be my right arm for balance and then on to the back then chest then upper legs and finish with the calves.

Who are you going to get work by and are you going with traditional Irezumi or are you using machines? I have books of Japanese Tattooers and there are tons of good ones over there. It goes without saying that Shige is the best at the moment but you will pay a premium. http://yellowblaze.net/

I am getting traditional tebori, i dont like gun personally....

Fantastic to see a simliar work to what i am having done.... Same as u, but the koi (boy) swimming against the current to reach the top of the river to metamorph into the dragon (man) on my chest but this may be changed to a full back piece, not sure yet and with some flowers here and there.....

On the other arm is just a half sleeve of wind and waves with more flowers....

On my stomach i will be getting the birds of paradise and depending how long i have left i want a full back piece but this is doubtful...

My Artist who will have the final say in everything as i respect his opinions and advice very much is Mr. Horimyo, i will attach a link...

Im going to japan solely to see him and hopefully check out the drift scene a bit if i have time.... 4hrs tattooing a day for 2weeks 1 day= 60hrs tebori lol!!.....

@FT-86GOD- Dude, I would love to have Irezumi Tebori work done. Do you have any sketches of the concept yet? Mine was some basic outlines and then the artist just did what worked with the geometry of my body. That's cool that Horimyo only does hand poke. Most of the artists that do this style do outline with the machine and then do all the color and shading with the stick. Outline of mine took 5 hours with no scale work and was machine only.

@digital_assassin i had planned to search high and low for similar tattoos that Horimyo could work off and with the birds of paradise i know exactly what i want and have a painting for him to pretty much copy... After seeing how many books Horimyo has im happy to go and just talk to him about what i have in mind and go from there... If it was any other artist it would be different but i dont want to manipulate his imagination if that makes sense lol.....

Another artist i want to one day have work done by is Yannou from Cananda..... Amazing artist and the only one i would let work on me with a gun...

Digital_Assasin i will PM u the birds of paradise.......
