Those seats look very extreme. Are they comfortable? Hope your wife/gf/passengers like the "full race" experience!

Do you have to get an upgraded harness with these types of seats, or can you use the stock seatbelts?

No one ever rides in the 86...lol Second seat is just for show and balance... lol

I'll use the OEM belt for driving... Occasionally I may use the 6-point harness though.

I took care of a few things today...

I removed and reinstalled my seats to the highest notch so that the height was closer to 0° at the shoulders in relation to the harness bar... came close but off like 5 degrees.

Also, I swapped the OEM buckle receptacles to the brackets that are part of the rails and installed an eyelet bolt on the spacer/bracket that was included with the Bride rails hardware.

Made a bushing for this bracket...

The main thing for me today was to get the harnesses in... I pretty much accomplished that. However, I had to order a longer eyelet bolt so that I can use the OEM 3 point belt. The HPI provided eyelet bolt was way too short to accommodate both belt assemblies. The longer eyelet bolt will be here Thursday.

Instead of drilling holes in my floor board for the 6-point I came up with this....

The steel brackets I found at Tractor Supply Company... They are called Shackle Links and are 1/4" thick. I made some bushings for the holes so that there wouldn't be much slop.

Better pics coming soon...it is too dark to take pics of the harnesses.

any idea how this will affect safety for the harness? I would assume it wouldn't matter since it's more of a show car compared to an actual track car but am still curious.

I feel that the points I used are all safe for harness use... I am not sure how safe the belt between my legs is though... I say that because although the brackets I used are thick and strong, I'm not 100% that their placement is safe for autocross/drifting/racing.

But yes... you are right that I treat my build as primarily a show car and hobby car. I will not use the harness for driving around town often... but I will throw them on from time to time.
