Glad you're enjoying it. still waiting for the carbon tips. can't wait for them to come in. i think they'll look fantastic on MGM

About 8 months with the HKS Legamax Premium axleback insalled - Couldn't be happier. A little quiet but that's what I was going for to not piss of the neighbors. Still crackles/burbles a bit on downshifts. Highly recommend if anyone's looking for a more "grown up" axleback option.

The exhaust is still on the quiet side but I definitely notice a bit more volume than before at low rpm and some mild drone during any engine braking deceleration.

The car is still very quiet for a catless header, single high flow cat, single exhaust set up. Start up is still pretty quiet for being a single exit and not loud enough that I would worry about complaints from the neighbors.
Just installed one last night. Really enjoying how quiet this exhaust is (Apex'I N1 Evolution Single Exit).

Same, couldn’t agree more, plus it’s quality! The way I dont have to deal with exhaust dust is fkn amazing! You know what I’m talking about!

I think what they are referring to is the tips are sticking out past bumper a little bit instead of flush so the exhaust moisture/carbon do not get stuck on the bumper.

In the other forum, we figured out why some of the 2.5" resonated Perrin exhausts drone. There are two versions. Older version has a fatter muffler and smaller resonator. Easy way to tell is it has the Perrin logo stamped on the sides of the exhaust tips.

Newer version has a narrower muffler and larger resonator. Has the Perrin logo stamped on the top of the exhaust tips.

The older version is the one that doesn't drone, which explains why I can't hear any drone on mine (purchased in 2014).

I've completed my exhaust with pretty much all first gen components (or cross compatible but initially designed for the first gen). Nameless Performance EL header, Invidia OP, JDL Ultra Quiet FP, CSG x MXP Touring86 catback. The only fitment concern is the JDL clearance between my automatic tans and the floor. I added heat reflective tape on both. The header primaries are slightly larger than the stock header.

Purchased everything secondhand, header cost $275, OP $125, FP $150, catback $500, so all in $1,050.

Explains why my first gen never droned with the Perrin, it had the logo on the sides of the tips and my second gen droned (the pic above with the logo up top amusingly enough)

Thanks!

I installed an STI Performance Muffler on my BRZ last week. I have a JDL UEL and a generic 2.5" overpipe. Stock frontpipe and midpipe.
