If you're willing to go universal double din then you can already get quadcores with more ram. If youre waiting on a direct fit for frs/brz/corolla or whatever, might want to double check with joying on it.

Ignore the 3 wires, unless you want to be locked out of watching/playing vids while moving, etc. For the antennae power, you will need to tap either of the 2 blue wires. I tapped mined form the HU side so I dont mess the car stock wires.

It came with a plug and play mic, but its horrible. The custom ROMs make this HU SOOOO much better! Get Xposed installed for even more awesomeness like hacked pandora/spotify/youtube etc...

VERY simple to update MCU
Going to start from zero again when I flash the new ROM and MCU.

If i had the chance / had not bought the unit already, I would personally wait for new unit with faster internals and Android 5.0 OR get one of the universal units that have a bigger screen..

I'll sell you mine at a discount, lmk!!!

I would say nothing is indeed better than the inbuilt mic. People can hear SFA of you talking.

I got the universal because the screen is higher res. You have to drill new holes in your HU brackets to make it fit.

Not an inbuilt mic, an external one was provided with the kit when I bought it.

I just want to know if I have to open it and solder to make the external mic usable.

Does this have a diverse bluetooth profile and accept the same apps as say a Samsung Phone running the same software? SPP bluetooth profile?

My Ca Fi headunit was a piece of garbage and I could not download the HKS applications to run OB Link on it... which is all I wanted an Android head unit for

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't bank on it. I couldn't get a USB OBDII to work, only BT OBDII. These units aren't perfect, but close enough for me, especially at the price point.

The dongle that ft86speedfactory sells works fine for me, pretty sure any bluetooth obd2 dongle will work with this unit.

That's a poor assumption. Torque with chinese adapters works on Ca Fi but OB Link doesn't work with it's own unit

hmm, not sure. My mp3 audio has stopped playing a few times but a pause/play click gets it going again. Not sure if this is heat related. That's about the only thing

Look up xposed for android. It gives you the ability to change functionality of things.
