LOL i think you did not read my post but this will be my track car so pushing it to the limits will be part of a daily routine with her . I hate Stability control and abs for track driving since they interfere almost all the time under the slightest sign of pushing the car towards the limit. It might be good to leave the stability control on sport at first to learn the behavior of the car though. But my current track car has no stability control or abs and is pushing 380whp lol and no problems so far my stability control is in my foot lol.

Thanks for the video its great!!!

i wouldnt call staggering normal. i actually think its kind of stupid unless you have a fwd car, a midship, or make obscene power. what you should really do is pick a tire you want and then find the lightest, widest rim that will work with that tire

Well.. not really..

You pick the wheel size that works BEST for your tire size (or vice versa, doesn't really matter which side you start with).

You could probably put a 195 on a 12" wide wheel but you shouldn't unless you are doing it for "looks"...

I understand your reasoning behind that but its unexplainable why for example my c63 has no understeer even with 235's up front and 265's in the rear its still very tail happy though i have noticed that if i create a drift its hard to control since the front wheels seem to respond less. I have to say that turn in is great even with skinnier tires up front i guess it must have something to do then with the weight balance or the suspension geometry of the car. Its one of those weird things like i still cant understand why a gt-3 has no understeer even though the engine sits way back in the car and the front tires are skinnier, but if you rotate the tail a bit on a gt-3 its very hard to get it back under control since that weight in the back acts like a slingshot.

Huh? So you still rubbed the roof.. yet visibility was bad because you were so low? Are these SCCA prepared class (EP or whatever the hell a Miata is legal for) instead of SM/ITA cars? That statement doesn't make sense unless the windshield is chopped/removed. and the bars are just high enough to clear the owners heads.

Seats are personal preference. I've liked some and hated some, but that doesn't really apply to the current topic.

I think you got the wrong idea since i was just saying they are grippy compared to other brands or oem tires.
While I doubt the Federals.. how do they compare to RS-3s, StarSpecs, RE-11s and AD08s in your opinion?

His point was valid, there's no need to go after him. He wasn't attacking you so you don't need to attack him.

Suspension tuning, HP/TQ, etc.

C63s understeer unless you are on throttle, at least the students that I drove did like a pig.

This car was setup for a non-staggered setup, going staggered will shift traction towards the rear, which if the car is neutral and no other changes are made will result in understeer.

Fast S2000s IMO (which are staggered from the factory) run non-staggered setups as well.. and those are cars that many drivers claim are oversteer happy, although I've found you have to be VERY ROUGH with throttle application for them to oversteer that much.

when i say works i dont mean fits physically, i mean works. the widest recommended rim is going to be faster than the thinnest

there are explanations galore. narrow front tires increase turn in response (which is why i said not to go 235 on stock rims), the car is designed around a stagger, suspension geometry weight balance, power and mainly front roll couple all alter steady state handling handling. your c63 isnt a sports car and it has way more power than the frs. the gt3 is a nice car but you will have no trouble finding enthusiasts who will say that if the cayman was built to that degree it would be the better car

I thought they had stability control because they are required by law.

For what it worth since this thread has gotten waaaaay of topic, lol, I'm planning on running 225/45/17 Star Specs but I'm having a lot if trouble finding a 17x7 lightweight wheel in 5x100 with a good offset. Everyone either makes 17x7.5 or 17x8. In order to stay in stock class in SCCA Solo II you have to stick with stock diameter/width unless there was an optional wheel then you can go up to that. I wouldn't go crazy with width since a lighter wheel tire will keep a lighter/lower HP car faster.
