Don’t you mean turbos + tall gears? Turbos are prone to turbo lag and turbo threshold, so long gears means more time to build boost, but superchargers are rpm dependent like NA vehicles, so they wouldn’t really benefit from tall gears, right?

I literally mean any boost, where you can take advantage of the extra thrust.

On topic

I've got some new Bridgestone RE003 (Firestone Indie 500)

Avo turbo gets installed in a couple of weeks

I'm confident that the 235/45 17 will be adequate for my power levels

I went with the RE003 over the Hankook RS4, which the new tyres replaced, because the Bridgestone is slightly better in the wet.

Compromises again, the life and times of a modified street car......

I think you mean any high horsepower vehicle then. You just might love electric; one long gear and all the torque.

Only reason i said that is how quick these get out of the lower gears when boosted. It's almost comical.

I agree, short low gears are a common problem after increased power and torque. Although launch control becomes harder, some like that instant acceleration feeling. With the power level of stock JRSC, I think lower gears are still acceptable.

Taller high gears help with low rpm cruise (low noise, high mpg) and increased top speed.
