Hydromat
Ok......i want to get rid of my two pump set up for fuel starvation in my Frs and go with a single pump and the Holley hydramat.......I understand Macken Industries FRS is running a hydramat.....anyone know the size they are running?......called Holley twice and i get put on hold it seems for EONS.

Most big builds will not be disclosing any of the details of their builds, beyond the very basics... R&D isn't free.
Now, something tells me that their fuel system is not as simple as just a hydramat |

Your probable correct.....was thinking the same thing.....only part of their solution......im running to power my LS two pumps one on each side of the saddle as well as a return system with regulator as i was having starve/lean issue on hard left turns below half a tank......got it resolved but would like to simplify it with a hydramat and one pump......i would know instantly i had a pump failure this way car would quit......where as with the dual pump it would continue to run but very lean.

If it works...
Wouldn't a fuel pressure gauge or an AFR gauge let you know if there's a problem? What are you running for engine management and data tracking? No failsafe? If you don't have something that can handle issues like this, maybe it's time to upgrade? It might be less painful then redoing your fueling system, and it will open up new vistas of awesomeness to your tuning.

I have a N/A stock LS swaped FRS dynoed at 350whp, I have oil pressure/oil temperature/coolant temp gauges.....was seriously considering adding fuel pressure as well......my idea as both pumps alone can supply the needed 60 psi pressure was to eliminate one for simplistic reasons and run a full length hydramat .

Thread jack.
I love how the crappy Toyota digital clock is poking its head into your bad-ass gauge picture. |

I tried Hydromat in my FR-S race car and it was a disaster. The issue is that there is literally no space for it below the stock fuel pump assembly. So, we modified the assembly. It did not work at all for this application. It actually made the situation worse.
I bit the bullet and installed a Fuel Surge Tank. On top of that, we removed the crossover pickup side and installed a second stock fuel pump assembly. We plumbed them together and now have a dual feed and dual return to/from the FST. No more fuel starve issues. |

Since the cat's out of the bag, the Mackin FRS uses a fuel cell with two hydramats, and then a surge tank in addition to that.

Like as in drop-in the fuel tank? If so, that is exactly what I was hoping that someone would develop. Great news!
I use a Radium FST with integrated FPR that I took from my other race car. I'd love to put the FST back in the other car and get the in-tank solution. I just checked the Radium website and don't see it yet. Any idea when it will be released? |

I probably shouldn't have even mentioned it... but It'll be on the CSG website the day it's available to the public! |
