I think it was @strat61caster that said the plug cap portion of the igniter had to be tweaked hard in order to remove it. Any concerns there?

The coil does have to make basically a 90 degree turn so at one point you have the rubber boot snaking around the valve cover to get to the spark plug with the actual coil following. Good news is the replacement has survived just as many track days as the original if only 20% of the total runtime of the last coil... |

There should be no worries about "tweaking" the coil. The long cap or boot that wraps around the spark plug is just a rubber boot with a spring inside of it. So there should be no fear of "tweaking it" of any sort. It's not a hard tweak either and can be done with minimal bending or flexing. |

That was a good read. The pic of the half-installed coil helps a lot. Thanks! |

Replacing my coil on the #2 cylinder tonight. Might as well take a look at the plug too. Nice write up.

I need to do mine so bad. Really thought it was harder than this. Everyone in here talking about just peeking at their plugs. I actually need them replaced. Am I the only one with 100k miles on my 2013 BRZ? Fml lol

I have 90k on my 13 BRZ, kinda close. Plugs service is supposed to be at 60k dude! did mine at 66k, they were rough looking too. The hardest part was just getting the car in the air stable enough to work under it lol. Pretty easy, just follow the service manual and it's a piece of cake. From what I understand you don't have to take the headers off if you have aftermarket headers tho.

has anybody removed the spark plugs using these instructions? I'm tempted to try but this sounds way too easy compared to other tutorials.
