Uneven wheel poke after alignment

I could use some help - I'm out of my depth. Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere.

I recently installed new coilovers on all four corners, and after getting some driving in, took the car to a local tuning shop for an alignment. After getting the car home, I spent a little time looking at the way the car sits, and noticed the my front passenger side wheel is poking out about 1/2" further outboard than the front driver side. It's also worth noting that the camber plates are set differently from each other; the passenger side plate, with the locking bolts in the same holes as the driver side, is set about 1/4" further outboard than the driver side. I hope the photos I've taken help illustrate my issue well enough.

I don't have the alignment sheet on me at the moment, but here's the settings:

Driver
Camber: -2.1
Toe: 0.10

Passenger
Camber: -2.0
Toe: 0.10

Caster was different from side to side, but I don't have control over this aspect AFAIK.

Basically, I'm looking for suggestions; what do you think the cause of this could be?

The car hasn't been in any major accidents, just one small incident - I scraped a rear quarter panel a couple years back, but I was able to get perfect alignments since then. The coilovers are HKS Hipermax IV, purchased new from the manufacturer. Other than coilovers and endlinks, no other modifications have been made to the car's suspension, so there's no eccentric bolts or anything.

Thanks in advance.

What are the resulting alignment specs?

I'd just take it back and point out the obvious.

Thanks for the quick responses! I edited my post to include basic alignment specs. The sheet I got back looked excellent. I'll post a photo of it later tonight if you'd like to see it.

This is just an optical illusion right?

Even if the camber plates were set to complete opposite settings the wheels wouldn't really sit any Further or Nearer from fender.

That's what I thought too. Which is why I'm so confused. I've had the front wheels aligned and sitting perfectly symmetrical in the past.

Did you have spacers on the car, and one did not get put back in?

No, no spacers. I also checked to make sure that the wheels are flush mounted to the mating surface, even if that would have been obvious from driving. I do have hub-centric rings installed in the wheels, but those aren't interfering.

How much play was there on the lower two bolts on the coilover? Maybe one side was tilted in farther than the other where the coilover bolts to the spindle. I know you said there are no eccentric bolts there, but there might be enough play to push one side out farther than the other. That would in turn cause the top hat to be in a slightly different location than the other side. I dunno, just a thought.

Two thoughts come to mind: Firstly, when looking at the two photos showing the wheels in relation to the fender lip, the passenger side photo was taken slightly more inboard than the driver side. If you look at the amount of fender showing between the edge of the fender and the mirror stalk, you can see that there’s more length on the passenger side than the driver side, confirming that the camera was more inboard on that side - this is creating the illusion that the tire is sticking out further than it likely is. Secondly, if your wheels were even slightly turned to the right, this will exacerbate things visually even further. I’m not saying you may not have a problem, but I’d square everything up and have another look.

Good luck!

BTW, what is the reason for 0.2 total toe-in in front? Are you happy with resulting steering?

Where did you get it aligned? Has their alignment rack been calibrated recently? I've gotten some pretty strange alignments from Firestone in the past. The machine would read even camber after aligning but after taking it to another rack the alignment was off by more than 2 degrees L to R (this was within the span of one week so not much time for things to shift around). I knew it was off simply by eye balling it.
