So what happened to visconti?

Havent really followed anything since that thread died out where that guys car got on fire for his faulty part. What happened? I see that hes banned now..

Did he get sued? Or did he take responsibility for what happened? An update if anyone knows would be great

He's still tuning. If you comment on his FB page about anything regarding blowing cars up or fires, your comment gets deleted and you get reported. Ask me how I know.

I had some tuning questions for him at Wicked Big Meet this past weekend but he seemed a in a real cranky mood so I didn't approach him.

He has tuned a few gtr's around here and they all run perfect. He is doing new sti's wrx's on ecutek and all seem to be making great power and running well too. Guess the frs/Brz tuning died off after the leaky fitting incidents. I have a v2 visconti flex fuel kit installed, it is flawless. Looks like everyone who offers a flex kit now uses the same plug and play fittings that are now available instead of hose clamps and whatnot

The owner of that car was reimbursed. AFAIK Visconti was not the one that did the reimbursement... All I know is there were a number of cars that had fires that started in the same location and I my self have seen a fuel leak in the same location that never had a flex fuel kit installed. I don't know exactly who paid for the car in the end. And as much as everyone hates the guy the one time a car blew up on him he bought the guy an engine.

The reason he got banned was for posting in another vendors thread against forum rules.

That is kind of like calling the Titanic incident "an unintended course correction (to the seafloor)".

you are messing with aftermarket parts. its hit or miss. does it suck that there were issues with some leaky fittings, yes. did everyone have issues, no. just the more reason to check over everything after installation by the installer, and occasionally by the owner. i check over my fuel lines, injectors, etc every time i check my fluids under the hood. even factory systems have leaks and failures (my vw had a factory fuel line issue and burned to the ground in my driveway)

im not trying to stick up for him but him updating the system and replacing faulty parts seems to be the correct response to a situation like that. after about 200 people on a forum (which probably 90% do not even have experience with the product) bash on someone its just easier for everyone to just follow along after that.

This! Yes he sold leaky fittings, but he didn't install them. Anytime you're touching fuel lines you HAVE to be very diligent to check for leaks at install time, and after a bit of time has passed.

There were a few GTI's that burned down from a fuel leak in the engine bay, all 100% stock cars.

In my business we have to perform random vibration on every production unit to "verify workmanship", even if previous production units have passed qualification testing.

The first true vibration test these cars get is us driving them off the lot.
