More like 20 years and the way of a circle. Just nostalgia and no longer for homologation.

Get whichever fits your life better because you'll end up keeping it longer.
Brz, as a platform, is sports car first and practical second. Focus RS is practical first and sports car second.

Get a Mustang GT. FoRS is nice, but it's still based of a sub 20k car.

Man, this thread is a cluster fork. One little question and people lose their shirt. Clearly, the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile is the ride of choice.

I am getting ready for work so which socks should I wear? Grey or black?

I agree with you on that one. They have come a long way in the last 10 years. I had a rental focus wagon in Germany and hit the autobahn with it. It was fully loaded to compete with the german autos. It had a great dash cluster that kept telling me the speed limit on the sections of the autobahn I was on. Topped it out at 220kph, it sure didn't handle that great hitting that speed, but still better than I had thought.

Having said that... I missed my FRS every second driving in the mountains near lake constance... Did see one hot lava ft86 in a small town near Stuttgart.

When I was in Germany we had a sort of communal 77 Trans Am (brand new) we used. Now that was a blast on the Autobahn!

It is but the chassis and body are more practical than race oriented and those you can't change. Where as the ft86 has a low Center of gravity/mass.

Meh. It wasn't meant for the Autobahn. Now those Bavarian Alps mountain roads...
