Will 6mm of friction material last me one track day next weekend?
Hi all!
Have a track day coming up at the Ridge. Car has the PP Brembos and PS4Ses. Roughly 6mm of Performance Friction 01s in the front left. Will it last me 6 to 7 20 minute sessions? My new pads won't come in on time and I do plan on bringing my stock pads to the track so I will be able to get home in the worst case. Thanks! |

I would think they'd last with room to spare. You probably wanna check halfway through the day, inside and outside, to see how the wear is. PFCs wear slowly, and they don't have big bolts in them. You an wear them way down and still brake.

6MM is more than enough for Ridge as it's not a brake intensive track. I've tracked on about 4MM remaining on Carbotech XP10 and still had more than enough to get home to Vancouver, BC. However, like the above poster said I'd recommend to check it halfway through the day

Ull be fine, 6mm is healthy, new they're 10 or 12mm right? So I'd be nervous under 4mm.

I bet you'll take 1-2 mm off in the day. Carbotech probably don't hold up nearly as much as the PFC do.

Thanks, all!
My other track experiences so far have been two dry HPDE days @ Pacific Raceways and one wet day @ Autobahn Country Club. Is Pacific more brake intensive than Ridge? I have been driving Ridge a lot in Assetto Corsa (found a good mod) and find the track very technical so I am excited. |

I haven't done PR yet so I can't compare, but you'll be fine with 6mm of PFC 01. |

I agree with @kch - Ridge is probably the most fun track I've been to in Pacific Northwest compared to Area 27, Vancouver Island Motorsports Circuit, Mission Raceway Park and Pacific Raceways. Haven't tried ORP or PIR yet though. |

PIR sucks. It is like trying to pass someone on the freeway that won't let you by. Two long straits, and the higher HP cars really hurt your run onto them when they struggle through the tighter bits. There is a reason Indy runs there, it's not technical.
