The car as it stands now:

So now we go onto the fun Picture detailing part
Day 1: From the Dealer, used, but in perfect condition 14k miles.

CAR IS COMPLETELY STOCK, other than the Pioneer unit

First upgrade I do other than the air filter is the sound upgrade. Car Came with Pioneer AVH-2400 from the previous owner.

Went to @DarrenDriven's house and had some Eibach Sportlines installed!

6 Months Later

Went to a couple meets and got some shots of my car/others

Finally decided to bite the bullet and buy some actual performance. One of the forum members was selling a used Open Flash Header / Open Flash Tablet combo for $800. Couldn't resist

Started off by running a stage 1 EL 91 Tune for the first week or so. The drive-ability was increased, torque dip was reduced and it was a nice change over mostly stock performance. Constantly was checking the software tuning sub-forums and ended up paying a visit to a local shop that served E85. Corn-juice, Car booze. Whatever you wanted to call it, it WORKED... On a stock car, the E85 OTS tune is quite good. The attention to detail from @steve99 and @Shiv@Openflashperformance was noticable.
After taking it easy for around 25-30 miles to let the ECU adjust, the engine roared to life like nothing before.

After several days of using the tune and E85 I noticed a sound around the 3800-4500 RPM Range, I was still learning about the fuel trims and was honestly worried that it was running lean. After researching a while longer I found it was the VVTi caused from the tune, and the sound grew on me as I waited for the header to arrive from PA.

After some unsuccess of getting help putting the Header on, I ended up borrowing jack stands from my brother and putting the header on myself, as this was the last piece of the puzzle that I had purchased.

Took some time and using the borla header install pdf, managed to mount and seal the new header into place. I bought and used new gaskets from the dealer.

1 Month Later

I decide to finally Dyno my car to see what I'm actually making at the wheels. I set up the appointment at PRE in portland and show up to get it dyno'd. Lots of mixed things about PRE, honestly I doubt I would ever let them work on my car, but as far as buying parts and using their Dyno; they're good at what they do.
Video and Dyno sheet:

Over 200whp was the final result, of course on E85. But i'm still very happy with the result.

I'm loving the journey so far

Sure man!
Eibach springs are a great way to start lowering. I'm planning to pair them with koni yellow springs to get normal ride feeling back.
Then add 17x9 +35 rims to make the wheels flush

Looks great! Wheel spacers seem like they would contribute greatly though, especially to the back!

I agree about the wheel spacers if you plan to keep the stock wheels for an extended period of time, but I'm planning to upgrade and spacers would be useless when I get new rims

Glad you dig it

Just got back from getting the final drive swap completed by a local shop in the NW area. Got the ring/pinion and the install kit from weir performance for a little over $400

~

Found a shop in Portland, OR that had done SEVERAL final drive swaps on the 86 platform, and he's incredibly fair for his rates!
Got the entire labor complete for around $370
$300 for labor
$70 for supplies

It was done in a single day. I just need to change out the fluid in around 1000 miles after the gears have broken in. Absolutely NO whine at all from incorrect backlash. Entire car has more torque, and when this mod is paired with E85. I don't believe there is a better NA setup that you can do!!

Just wanted to share my experience

Better than stock honestly!
I rode in my friends stock frs, then rode in mine and the konis mitigate all the small bumps.
