Well, she was drunk when she married me; but, since we both quit drinking, I have no idea why she is sticking around -

We're going to get a kiddie pool for the dogs when it gets really hot. just gotta find one of those old school hard plastic ones. might be tough since anything made before 2009 is probably to "dangerous" for today's kids. :p

tell that to the insurance company.

shop: We need $X to fix this.

Ins Co: No. we'll pay $Y to fix it this way.

shop: but We don't think that this the right way to do it.

Ins Co: to bad. you want to go to court over a bumper? good luck.

Get a second quote. When two repair shops tell the insurance co they're wrong, you now have a court case. Also what shitbox insurance care you using??? I use Hartford, and they can't say "yes" fast enough.

The Dell technician from Worldwide is supposed to be here... 30 minutes ago. Dumbass is driving around in San Leandro, trying to figure out how to get here, 27 minutes away. The time to get here keeps rising. I don't know what the fuck is going on, but Otis might need a seeing eye dog to get him here. The time to get here keeps rising. Right now he's facing the wrong way to even get to the freeway. Perhaps he's got a drunk Uber? I dunno.

Depends on your state laws. In OR you have the right to have your vehicle repaired to pre-loss condition. I have filed a complaint with the state insurance board over an issue and it straitened them out real quick.

doesn't matter the company. I've worked as an estimator at a dealer's shop and every company including yours has been a d*ck over the simplest things. most won't nickle and dime you over a bumper job, some will and depending on the job most will. just depends on the adjuster and the situation.

and good luck if you get hit by someone with one of these fly by night companies. they will drag things out to the legal limit. which in most states will be 30 days before anyone gets paid. do the work before they agree to terms and/or you get a check and you're asking to get hung out to dry.

yep, and arguing over OEM parts is necessary because of the car's age is not a new thing.

We are having a lot of power outages because of our out of date, over taxed power infrastructure, and the heat. Solution? Everyone should have an electric car.

And solar panels? My parents house is completely off the grid. They have 30 solar panels hooked to 12 of these... They will power nearly anything. The diesel backup almost never turns on.

I've only been in about 4 accidents in my life, luckily all just fender benders. A couple my fault, a couple not my fault. Each time I took my car to a local shop, and every time my car was fixed perfect. The shop dealt with the insurance. It has been a while since the last one, but I don't remember any of them being any hassle. For years I had State Farm, and for the last 10 years AAA.

A lot of the tech support calls I take for our equipment are due to these issues

We had a transformer blow outside our building yesterday and the surge killed the contactors my our forming oven in the spring shop I wouldn't be so upset about it but the power company shut us down to fix it and melted all of our popsicles. It's damn hot back there.
