Accounting will figure out it costs more than Delta after they nickle and dime you on everything eventually.

Best of luck. Last time I flew with them they canceled my flight. I wasn't that upset about it until the lady got really mouthy with me for no reason. So I used her kiosk to pull out my laptop, tether it to my phone, and book a different flight with another carrier. She was quite annoyed by the time I was done and left.

I just booked 7 days of travel with my boss. Not looking forward to it. MI, OH, and MO visiting 6 customer facilities

No, they won't. That would require rational human beings to critically review the software God that hands down divine travel judgement. All we have to do is comply. Compliance is happiness. Compliance is infallible.

Anyway, I did the baggage calculations and it would be kinda hard to justify the $250 difference between that and the next cheapest direct flight. I'm almost hoping something goes terribly wrong so I can use it later. Maybe I won't actually fit in 28" pitch seats...

We flew to Vegas twice on Spirit. Sprang for the extra large seats, which are more comfortable than typical airline seats and than typical premium economy seats but were only somewhat more expensive than Southwest. We flew with carry-ons only, and we made sure they fit in the free dimensions. The staff were pleasant. The hot stewardess recognized me the second time we went (and me her). The seats were comfy. It was an overall good experience. The only bad part is all the strange calculations for fares on their website. I'd fly Spirit big seats over Southwest or Alaska upgraded premium.

None of those are anything like a real luxury flight, of course. Turkish Air biz class? OMFG.

Well, if that's all you want, couldn't you just replace all or part of the existing roof panel? that would leave the door and the middle support in. I don't think it would be particularly attractive, but it basically does the same.

Well, I'm not going to hack something together. That would look terrible. But a factory option might make that look better. Though as Ultra pointed out, the diagonal roof panel channels support torsional loads so idk how that would affect things.
