But if the earth is flat, what are we rotating about - I guess a flat surface can rotate, but?? How does rotation neutralize acceleration? And those little lights in the sky? No air?? WTF?

The disk orbits about a fixed point that it is always facing, approximately once every 24 hours, and moves tangential to the acceleration. The little lights move across the sky because of this rotation.

Anyway, back to the problem at hand. I know that some of the talking heads are talking about going door-to-door to promote the vaccine. And I know that some other talking heads are coming to insane conclusions such as a method of taking guns and bibles (wut lulz). I will be honest, like other solicitations, I would find that quite annoying. But then again, it might be a cleaver way. It may also make those who are on the fence or against the vaccine even more irritated and or hostile. And apparently they are getting some Gen Z kid I've never heard of to promote getting the vaccine, too.

London UK, set up drop in centres, anyone can drop by for a jab. No identification required, this is to encourage people who are operating below the radar..

My takeaway is that someone could get tested multiple times in the span of a couple days. i.e. "I feel sick, I hope it isn't COVID, but I'll take a test... Uh oh, it says I'm positive. I'll try to relax and heal on my own... I don't feel any better, I should go to the urgent care/doctor/hospital. Ah they need to test me to make sure I have COVID." In that case alone there are two "positive tests." And then the person, once admitted, would probably be counted as a "positive case."

I'm skeptical of the efficacy of door to door canvasing as well as positive or negative inducements. I'm still leaning toward analogman's approach. If you show up at the hospital with covid and are unvaccinated you go to the end of the line and will have to pay for treatment out of pocket. I suspect that will increase the body count among the unvaxed and serve as 1) an object lesson on the costs of pig headedness and 2) provide an incentive for the unvaxed to seek out vaccination. The unwanted vaccine would be better used if sent to other countries who 1) are in a crisis situation and 2) have populations that want the vaccine. The US is, I think, something of a macrocosim of this board, and as we've seen here, you're wasting your breath trying to shame or persuade these people into doing the right thing.
