HA!
From the linked forum: "This! There's some outlandish crap in there LOL. It's like let's throw whatever we can against the wall and see what sticks. Sucks that bunk articles like that actually get picked up and reported on by blogs. I mean cmon.. based on i8 platform? Unless they've all the sudden decided to turn this into a $100k+ car, that's complete lunacy." Something tells me I would get along with that dude.

Can I start the derailment of threads as I usually do in the general subforum?
Btw, this should go in the "other car discussion" subforum. But that's just my opinion. |

Well this is a breath of fresh air. Perhaps now the FRS/BRZ rumor will die and we can be fed endless BS about the next Supra!!
...I mean I heard this one will have six wheels.

I haven't seen one single piece of verifiable evidence that they are even still working on such a thing. Please nobody throw a bunch of blog links at me because they all start in the fiction department at motoring.au anyway.

So toyota is making a new sports car, but not competing with Honda (NSX) or Nissan (GTR) and making this in the 60-70k range... Lexus (RC-F) is in that range, it doesnt compete with either of the other Japanese flagships, Why do people keep thinking that Toyota is making a Flagship sports car like the supra to not compete.. its going to be so funny when it A) doesnt look like the FT-1, and B) cost over 100k

FTA:
"...this initiative called the 'Silk Road' project..." With a project name like that, it answers the "what were they smoking when they designed FT-1?" question. With the FT-1 appearance and gestation period approaching that of a Frilled Shark, by the time it debuts it could nearly be extinct too. By the predicted 2018 rollout, we'll have many more choices at the rumored price point than some JV exercise that's supposed to keep us excited until then. The production design better be more interesting than the rapidly aging prototype design, not Calty's best effort. |

This could well be the Gen. II GT86. You heard it here first so it must be true.
