I'd personally prefer them to make a FR-S (new trim) super sport.
Imagine! Same chassis as our twins, would love our engine to be V6 (no V8, although I'd be so happy they kept it 4 cyl.), 250hp+, facelift+rear diffuser re-work/body kit, all leather interior and under $35,000. Is that even possible? x<$35,000??? I'm comparing it to the 370z around $35k @ dealer w/ 300hp+ But, our twins are more refined, no?

Well, based off of LS-swapped Lexus IS250/IS350's, an LS1/LS3 is more compact than Toyota's V6 engines. And an LS3 barely fits in an 86. Would probably need some chassis and hood mods to get a 2GR/4GR-FSE in there, and the center of gravity would be much higher too. I really doubt Toyota could/would manufacture it a price point that low.

New Supra
http://www.supramkv.com/threads/dubi...or-emerge.199/
Posting in General Forums because general speaking, If you or I were to get one, would it be better to get the turbo, 3.0 liter 6 cylinder gas engine at 300+ hp, or the gas electric hybrid at 400+ hp? Generally in terms of ease of messing around or modding ability between the usual standard gas engine as compared to messing around with one that has an electric hybrid component to it. How many more hurdles must you have to tackle by having a hybrid component to your engine? |

Oh geez. Lets not get excited over speculation. Let Toyota make all the news. I will take the one with the quad turbo inline four with the 8 speed manual.

Supra should not be the size of FRS. it should be GT size. |

Well, not trying to speculate but, I'm pretty sure a "supra" is coming out sooner or later. And most probably some kind of "hybrid" system is coming with it. Now I didn't say anything about a quad turbo inline four nor anyone else except perhaps you. I was generally speaking, modibility between the standard gas engine and the hybrid one. Again not speculating but I'm also pretty sure the "supra" will have an "engine."

Just like the twins... I'll believe when I see it and/or hear from Toyota or BMW on the matter. EVERYTHING else is speculation whether you said it or anyone else.

All I was just asking is why would you or not get the standard turbocharged engine and vice verse if there was an hybrid element to it. But then again it is all speculation i guess, same as speculation that there will be a 2016 FRS/BRZ coming out?

I guess by your belief, there is no point talking about that element of it (in the General Forums Section) until it is right in front of you? I don't care about the looks, except the idea of it being partly hybrid and the modability of said hybrid. But I guess that is also a no no to talk about until it is finally here!

I would like an Admin to close this Thread as apparently there is no point in discussing this because it is only speculation that cars in the future might come out that has some sort of hybrid engine to it that is not a prius. I guess we can discuss it when that technology comes out other than in a hybrid camry or hybrid prius. [Edit to include that it is also speculation that Camry and Prius are NOT the only cars out there that comes in Hybrid forms]

Again, my original intentions were "if" this car was to come out in the future, and "if" it comes in both, the supercharged from factory engine, and one that uses a hybrid platform, why would you choose one over the other that might be fi already, and how modifiable would the hybrid version be. I probably didn't write it exactly like that from my first post. BUT, again if it is just speculation, then it doesn't warrant discussions until we know 100% positive for sure that it will even come with said hybrid platform before we can even talk about modifying options? |
