I've browsed through some of the disassembled smali code for the music player, and it looks like it doesn't attempt to perform any kind of sorting - the way it reads the directory structure from flash is the order it will display it.

Just a heads up for those, like me, that may only be monitoring this thread - I've posted a new firmware image and created a new thread for its discussion.

In a nutshell, the 'big' changes are similar to the work jakejm79 did recently on XDA - a general update based on a newer base OS from Hal9k (way back in June) and some improved USB Serial adapter support and a tweak that should hopefully allow Torque to detect/use USB OBDII adapters.

just finished my updates NO AUDIO!!!! HELLPPP

I used the zip file in hals video link. and fallowed all instructions as fallowed. everything updated the way it should... Except for when the unit rebooted, now I have no audio ouput out of the speakers what so ever (was working fine before update). I even brought It back to where I had It installed and they said it was an internal software issue( It sucks, here I go buy this deck cause I found this thread and bought all the extra usb splittler and dongle ect... and come to make of it... now I have a head unit that has no audio output. and never was able to get the superuser app either. Therefore I cannot run torque as this thread made it seem so simple. I was shopping decks for a while and once I found this tread I didn't even hesitate to pull the trigger on this unit. But oh well I guess thats what I get for trying to tinker with android...If ANYONE has had this problem or know what may be wrong please let me know!!!

Thanks

Did you update the MCU? If so, then that is most likely the problem.

Try upgrading back to 2.11.4 using the file attached to post 1225.

For reference: none of the firmware files/instructions on this thread are recommended any more. Instead follow the instructions here.

I see @Trap63 has noticed the T7019A now comes with android 4.1.1.

His thread is here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54031

I assume these root files won't work with it but not sure. @GreenPants what do you think. And, if they will work will they also work with the 1024 x 768 resolution?

I don't think it'd work. It actually has a different processor (Dual-core A9, vs an A8 in ours), so I'd suspect that its a completely different platform.

Might mean this thread becomes a little redundant and even misleading if someone buys the 4.1.1 unit and bricks it with these root files.

Maybe @2forme could amend the OP to have a big warning that this is only for the android 2.3 version.

Might be a silly question but have you plugged in a compatible Bluetooth dongle?

What Bluetooth device are you trying to sync - a phone or an ELM327 for torque?

sorry kinda screwed when it comes to bluetooth...im trying to sync the ELM327.

is this a Bluetooth Dongle?
http://www.targus.com/AU/product_det...sp?sku=ACB75AU

i have connected that to the USB splitter, ran the Bluetooth Manager App but it just keeps searching...

could be that the Bluetooth dongle isnt compatible?

I'd suggest the following:

1. Use an android phone or tablet with Bluetooth and see it you can get torque working with your ELM327. If you can't then it is likely your ELM327 is faulty.

2. If you can get your ELM327 to work as per "1" above it is likely your Bluetooth dongle is not compatible. Many of us have found this. Suggest you get another. The one I have has CSR 4.0 on it like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Bluetoot...item3cd9bd4825

Or here http://dx.com/p/ultra-mini-bluetooth...r-black-146349

Make sure the Bluetooth dongle is the only thing you have plugged into the USB lead as it may be that it is your USB hub that is the problem if you are using one. You mentioned you were using a splitter - try removing that to see if that is the problem.

And, also ensure the dongle is plugged in before turning the head unit on. And, lastly, make sure your car ignition is "On" or car started and not just in accessories mode as your EMM327 may not be transmitting in only accessories mode.

Good luck. I had issues exactly like yours and it was my Bluetooth dongle that was the initial problem and then the hub I was using once I tried to connect multiple USB things like USB stick as well as wifi and Bluetooth dongles but got it all working in the end.

will give that a try mate, tested the ELM with my android phone so im thinking its the bluetooth dongle at fault.

I am gonna try to see if the bluetooth could work by itself to eliminate the splitter as faulty.
