I have everything from +35 to +42, and I usually run a 3-5mm spacer with everything (with so much camber it's all fine).

I couldn't tell a difference in amount of rubbing between any of them and it smokes a fender liner maybe once a year (~250ish runs) regardless lol.

I see people on here and the other STX setup threads running +42 without spacers. Probably a 40/60 mix on +42/35. If yours and others are rubbing with +35, I don't know how they're getting away +42. Possibly different ride heights. Even then, if it's rubbing on the inner fender, that doesn't really help.

Maybe going with +35 isn't a bad idea then.
First of all it's only 7mm we're talking about so other factors can matter more, but of course it helps.

Second of all whether you rub depends on your 1) ride height 2) alignment 3) springs and shocks 4) level of grip and 5) how bumpy the site is.

If a good driver on an ideal setup is cornering hard and hits a bump mid corner, that's going to take a lot to not rub. Whereas if the site isn't bumpy, it'd be much less likely.

Anyway I run +35mm also with a 5mm spacer in front, with 4.8 camber and 245 yoks. I usually don't rub but sometimes will rub a little where the fender liner goes over the brake line at high grip bumpy sites. The rear I don't have a spacer, and no rubbing no matter what.

I'd just do 35mm on a gen1.

Thanks, I'm edging towards +35 now. I kinda don't love the whole stancey boi look, but I guess with ~4 degrees of camber up front, it won't look bad. I have 3mm spacers on the car right now with ARP studs, so if it needs a bit of 'tuning' to get mine to fit, I have some wiggle room.

I did just pick up some RCE SS-1's today for a bargain. 1500 miles. Can't wait to get this setup for STX-lite. After 4 years in DS, I've had enough.

My other option is getting the +42 and using the 3mm spacers to get around a +39. Problem is, if some people are rubbing on +35... eh, +39 won't be enough.

I run 255/40 Yoks on my 2017.
-4.3 camber up front. -1.7 camber in rear.

I have a +35mm set of wheels and a +40mm set of wheels.
No spacers.
The +35mm setup I had a very tiny but of rub on the uppermost mounting tab for the rear bumper, shaved a few mm's off and no more rub.
The +40mm setup I get a pretty strong rub at full steering lock on the inside fender liner and 'frame'.

No other rubbing and on our primary lot I've had the car airborne mid corner.

Yep or alternately you can just buy the polyurethane version from verus directly if you pick the poly option here https://www.verus-engineering.com/sh...1#attr=204,100

Good to finally meet a bunch of y'all at Charlotte, even if I was breaking up the Twin party this weekend! Was planning on driving my car, but last minute change of plans while my shocks are off for a refresh. Lead to some confusion at reg where my wife and I somehow ended up registered in my BRZ in STX instead of her RX-8.

My fastest runs for comparison:
