Also be worth noting over time how many people's engines pop with that power. I haven't seen one go with under 300whp yet. Seems like the rods get tested above 350 FWIW.

Similar to STI actually - those rods tend to go after 400whp.

If I recall I am one and possibly the only supercharged car that blew up at this point. With the exception of one that had a fuel supply failure that I don't think was ever posted. But running 14+AFR through the entire RPM band tends to cause damage to your engine over time... (I am referencing my own car).

Edit: Oh and there was the guy who had the same tuner as me who blew up with the upgraded unit from innovate but that really doesn't belong in this thread.

Bolt and go canned tune JR and Innovate

Both have N/A base run to compare gains in %, not just outright numbers.

Both do well in different areas.

I know of at least one vortech car that went pop on the dyno that wasn't posted, but it wasn't a fuel supply issue.

Yeah I do... They JR kit looks like some random person did a DIY rotrex kit in the garage. It gets the job done, but looks like ass.

Great post. It actually makes it harder to choose in a sense as, with the power curves all laid bare kike that, it would seem that the unique characteristics of each setup might genuinely appeal to certain tastes or use cases.

Rotrex kits = Love the width of the powerband in the upper rpm ranges. Would seem to be ideal for circuit work since that fall off in power above 7k rpms gives you a great reason to shift a little sooner and keep things a bit cooler. Downside would have to be the fall off in power above 7k. Wonder why they do that?

Vortec = Great peak HP and deliciously linear. There's something to be said for that - would seem to be a hoot to run through the rev range in many different driving situations. Downside: the relative lack of torque perhaps?

Innovate = Dat torque, plus you get a nice peak hp increase. Would probably feel great to drive day to day with that extra down low grunt immediately on tap; probably plenty quick out of the bends around the autoX couses and bendy roads too. Downside: gotta be the relative lack of peak power. I wonder how evident that would be in different situations though, besides a drag race.

Very interested to know the weights each setup adds to the car and time will tell which one ( if any) will prove to be the most consisyrnt and relisble both during heavy track work as well as in the long run. Then there's ease of installation and reversability etc.

Ultimately it's great to have all of these options to consider though.

Great data, thanks to the OGOP for compilng all the info and to the OP for sharing. Saves a ton of thread hunting and general nitpickery.

Innovates first engine installed a bay window too didn't it? But that was tuner related.

Installed a bay window! I love that expression, keeping it for future uses!
