Under manifold vacuum line for dedicated BOV source?

Picture stolen from @Sniper2606

Since I'm using the EVAP harness to control the EBCS, can I delete the EVAP solenoid, plug the hardline that leads the EVAP solenoid, and use the manifold port on the bottom side for a vacuum/boost source? Did a search but just kept finding threads about putting clamps on and leaving EVAP as-is.

What does the EVAP solenoid do when no voltage is applied? NO or NC? Is it OK that the solenoid sees boost anyway?

TIA

It's normal close, but that line will pop off at 10+ psi.

You can definitely use it as a vacuum source.

I've deleted mine, just to simplify things and reduce a bit of weight.

Send a message via AIM to King Tut
Go ahead and delete it and use that port as a vacuum source if you want.

Cool, thanks guys. That's what I thought. What feeds the EVAP solenoid anyway? a charcoal canister?
