And that equals out to roughly 4 full track sessions and ~2500-3000 street miles.

One of the two friends I mentioned was on the podium this past year for OLOA. He ran a full weekend time trial at Sebring on PSS tires and I saw no visible degradation and lap times (2:16) were the equivalent to cars on full race slicks. I have seen similar results for the Forged and Top Speed GTR's on these same tires and I really don't understand why they work so well on just this platform?

Let me put it in perspective for you.

15 Forged Performance Nissan GT-R R35 Sharif Abdelbaset Limited AWD 1:55.583
Safe to say, based on classing, the car is probably 680whp, and on R-compound tires. IIRC, it was also on JRZ RS-Pros, and some other goodies.

That's less than 2 seconds faster than me in a 245whp BRZ. Video here:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4eS67W-crA"]BRZ Buttonwillow 13CW 1:57.394 - YouTube[/ame]

Forged Performance's GTR is also over 6 seconds slower than the Evasive FRS.

Are you still going to tell me that those GT-Rs are really being driven hard? Remember, at that level, racing is about money, not talent.

I can do a 1:55 in a 100% stock GT-R at Buttonwillow 13CW, and I will cord/chunk the tires in less than 5 consecutive laps at that pace.

Bring that FRS out to Hallett, and if it laps 6 seconds faster than Leh Keens GTR I will treat you all to dinner and drinks, and I don't go to cheap places.

Dead serious.

That seems incredibly silly considering Leh Keen isn't a slouch... and I doubt Evasive would want Mike driving their car.

Maybe you need to get a more experienced driver in the right seat. They could coach you on the merits of not overdriving the equipment.

My assigned task that day was to put down the fastest lap time I could, not to get as many laps out of the car as possible without wearing down the tires.

You forget that this is a "hot lap" situation, not a race, where car preservation is a factor.

Rob is just a wee bit more talented than I am; I'd rather watch him drive it.

All I know about racing, I got from Days of Thunder.

Funny, I saw a bunch of references to OLOA and that sure as hell an event where car preservation matters.

at no point has anyone compared lap times from a time attack style race, and OLOA. so trying to compare tire consumption between a time attack, and OLOA seems kind of pointless.

I ask a simple question regarding why GTR's seem to be able to make PSS's do what other platforms cannot and you respond with some "connect the dot math" involving a solitary ,six year old data point from which you have concluded that Sharif has been "measured and found wanting" on the CSG Mike scale of driver skills??

I'm sorry, but we can't all be HPDE World Champion. Some people have it, others don't. Those of us without need to move on with life and try to find meaning elsewhere. It will eat you up inside if you let it.

It does, but don't think the guys aren't driving the crap out of the cars for their 2 sessions at each track.

Pretty cool seeing a GTR in a 4 wheel drift up "The Bitch" at Hallett.
