Sent an email to FT Eighty Six yesterday asking about a refund since there was a one year manufacturer warranty. I'll probably be putting my stocks on after work today after I strip the red VHT off of them.

So I haven't had any warping issues, and I've had my TOM'S clear lens USDM DOT lights since December 24th of 2013. I bought them from ZN6_86 who I think is now 86 Industries? I haven't been on in a while, so I forget what's going on these days.

Around January or so of this year they started collecting condensation. Now they collect water and condensate really bad any time I wish the car or there's just moisture in the air. I've checked around for holes in the clear lens and I've had the gasketninja gaskets installed for well over a year now. I've heated up the taillights and baked them in the oven. DO NOT BAKE THEM IN THE OVEN. I inadvertently warped the little fin that points toward the inside of the trunk, so now the passenger taillight resists when I try to mount the taillight after draining the water out from the back of the lights.

I'm going to buy gasketninja gaskets AGAIN and use the 3M adhesive AGAIN and see if that helps any. At a loss as to what else I can do from here after 18 months of ownership.

I'm looking to pick up a pair of the clear taillights, but I am hesitant to pull the trigger because of this issue. Do we know how widespread this issue is? It seems only those who are having issues with their clears are posting here. Do the redistributors have any statistics as to what percentage of the clear tail lights sold were sent back because of this defect? I'd rather save myself the headache of going through the whole warranty process

I have had mine for about 4 months now and don't have any problems so far. Knock on wood lol

I know one sellers had all their clear TOMs be returned :/

Whats more sad is that it seems TOMs have favour with Toyota as I went to the Toyopet Area 86 in Shibuya, Japan, they have this pamphlet that is half TRD stuff for the 86, and the other half is TOMs... Nothing from the other brands...

I haven't noticed melting yet, but multiple people I know have has led lights go out. I have one in my upper right brake light that's out. I suspect it doesn't like being in hot weather as it's been hot in Portland this summer. I'm thinking about painting the inside of my stock tails black and putting those back on. I unfortunately can't return them because I bought them used (working great at the time). Tom's looks the best but the more reliable are the stock with gasket ninja's gaskets.

Recieved email today that replacement is on way. Dont have my hopes up at all. Ordering a pair in october of 2015, to me, shows that they have no intentions of fixing it. From what it looks like from previous post they will just send you another pair that is just going to do it again because thats all they can do. Vendors will state that they only hear a small amount of complaints but i think thats the percentage of people who actually notice. Others might not notice or just dont care.

I was washing my car today and noticed both mine are starting to melt after a little over 6 months. I have no idea when it started to melt, but I didn't notice it last time I washed my car, which was about a month ago.
