Track Time is awaiting

Just been given permission for two trips to the track...looking forward to it. I know it is early, but let me know if anyone is going to ORP this year. Would love to finally meet up with my fellow NW86ers.

Cheers!

I am a ORP club member and will probably do a dozen or so track days there.

WHat do they usually cost over at ORP and at the RIdge? What clubs do you guys track with?

Do you just buy gas at the track at ORP ? At least the RIdge you can get pump gas easily.

Average cost for a day is right around $200 for most clubs, before consumables and (if you desire) track insurance. As for gas I fill up at Exxon before getting to ORP and bring along a 5 gallon gas can. This gives me enough to run each session then make it back to the station at the end of the day. They do sell E0 92 for those that need it.

Not sure, I think I got quoted a while back at an additional $200 per event.

You can check ORP's website calendar for clubs and for profit organizations running events there. I'm a member of Team Continental (TC). They usually run 2 or 3 events a season at ORP. They have a great driver's training school that fills up fast. If you haven't been to ORP before I highly recommend it.

Besides TC, The Audi and Porsche clubs typically run 1 or more events there. I ran an event with NW Autocross Assoc (NWAA) in September. I believe they are planning another event in the same time frame this year.

The Ridge tends to be a bit more expensive, more in the neighborhood of $300 per event from what I've seen. I did one event last year with NASA which was a little bit less than that, but they aren't doing anything in the NW at all this year.

Most of the clubs use www.motorsportsreg.com for registration purposes, and there is a link on the site for insurance. Costs are based on "agreed value". @Decay107 is correct, if you want to fully insure an 86 it will run you about $200. I'm sure you can find it elsewhere as well, perhaps for a bit less.

I have been following your modifications...seems like you have one large project going on there. I hope to see you later in the year. I am new to this, so I may be asking for some advice.

Cheers!
