Eliminate oil pressure switch?
Any opinions on eliminating the oil pressure switch? I have a oil pressure gauge with a zero pressure warning. I want to install an oil temperature sender at the location (both of the accessible galley plugs on the top of the engine are already in use).

There's a thread in here claiming no issues with just tying off the connector. Personally, I think the oil can icon should be replaced with $$$ because that's all it's good for.

I've been running without one for quite a few miles now (and a number of track days), no issues
Just curious, why add a temp sensor in that location when there is already a well placed oil temperature sender that reads just after the pump (basically sump temperature) from the factory. Unless of course you are looking to gather data on the efficiency of different types of oil coolers (pressure switch is post filter and thus post oil cooler) by comparing the pre to post cooler temperatures. If that is the case, you're awesome.

could you not just put a tee fitting and run the standard oil pressure switch and the aftermarket pressure sensor. from original fitting.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard some stories on the brass tees possibly breaking off after awhile. I was abit hesitant when deciding between a brass tee and using the galley port.

The fittings come in SS and those are pretty sturdy.

Ah, SS fittings would be a much better choice of material.

My Search-Fu is weak :/
Where do you find the mythical SS versions of these adapters and T's? I have looked for them but haven't found any. Recommend search terms?

Thank you kindly. If worse comes to worse I'm willing to send the cost plus a reasonable fee for your trouble for you to find and send me stuff (if they're close to you)...
or could you slide me the shops name and I'll call them and ask them for stuff. I found these and have them comming... http://www.fastwrx.com/collections/g...ng-adapter-set ...but I would rather have the stainless steel ones

Try parker.com. I've worked with their fittings before, they're good stuff.
