Get those other brands up soon, while you didn't mention your company once, it does look suspicious that it makes a spring you see to exclusively use look good.

I assume you only have swift springs to test right now.

We do have other springs on the shelf, both new and old, but it's a matter of time and convenience. It was convenient to do the initial comparison as those springs were being changed/upgraded for a customer at the time and he wanted to know.

As mentioned, I'm doing this in my free time (i.e my lunch break), as I have as much to learn as the person next to me, and I have a personal interest in this sort of stuff

But to be accused of something right off the bat, with feedback consisting of links to my place of employment, that's not cool. I am in the lucky position to be able to offer this sort of data to the community because of my place of employment (i.e having the tools/resources), not because I want to advertise it. Of all the communities that I'm a part of/shared this data with, this has been the only one non-appreciative.

#hatersgonnahate Just keep doing what you were intending to do.

Some of these guys on forums are habitually antagonistic. We are free to share information as much as they're free to question your motives. Time will tell what you're trying to do here.

Carry on, sir.

Just going to give you a little pro tip.

Stop responding to the complaints with explanations.

Every time you respond like this, you give people more fuel to complain. They won't be satisfied by explanations, only results.

Don't respond until you have more data. It's just the way of this forum, like it or not.

I'd like to see empirical data of their (Swift's) superior reaction speed that they claim.

You probably are, the problem is your "YCW" account used to be a sponsor on this forum, so as far as the average longtime member is concerned, you're trying to advertise without paying.

Know what is better? Just make a new account and post up new stuff clean of what this account used to post. That's a way better way to go about it.

The odd thing is, these same pictures were posted on Facebook a week ago under the YCW suspension official page... so were you just doing this for fun? Hard to say.

Would love to see all the claimed spring rates of various manufacturers verified.

I believe the fine line crossed was once OP started doing direct comparisons to a competitor.

At this point we all kinda agree he's not actually trying to advertise for free.

lol okay but posting items with pricing from which you benefit from the sale of does not cross this arbitrary line. If you say so, then.

Would love to see some tests of megan products vs similarly priced products of "name brands".

My personal butt dyno sample of 1 says similarly priced teins are better than megan. But i have heard a lot of varying opinions on various parts sold by megan.

My thoughts on this thread and then I will back out:

1. This is a small grey area for advertising. Lots of people sell Swift springs. He's not advertising his own product, the information is somewhat general, and there is no pricing or links to his website. So, even RCE as small company that pays money to be on this website every month and contribute as best we can, we're not that upset. I don't think.

2. I have seen a lot worse from non-official vendors, including on this website. Like I said, we pay money to talk about our parts on here and follow the rules as best we can. On another forum, I saw a post that went like this:

Person 1 - "Hey, has anyone tried X coilover?"
Person 2- "Yeah I have them and they're super great"
Person 1 - "Cool, I can't wait to get mine on!"

The idiots both had their location as the same small town that was listed as the HQ of this brand new coilover company, and person 2 just joined the forum that month. Didn't take a genius to put it all together.

What worries is me is what goes on in PMs, but I know on some forums mods can and do check that.

Those things really do bother me.

3. I'm surprised people didn't know Swift springs were good? They're good and I've seen a bunch of tests like similar to this one. Hyperco are good too. Most of the Pirelli WC field and other top level motorsports is on Hyperco, Eibach, and H&R. Swift is a little more rare but that's not related to the quality of their springs.

4. Like I said, lots of people sell Swift springs...including RCE and other forum contributors.
