Where's the best slice in NYC?

I don't want to start a gunfight in a church but any ideas?

Well, you got the right state but the wrong town . I never found particularly good pizza in the city, but I haven't been there in at least 10 years now.

Really? This changes my whole outlook. I haven't been there since 87-ish. I was hoping to get some insider scoop. Resisting the google.

I'm going to be a heretic and say they all taste pretty similar to me

I do plan on going to the highest rated few someday to give them a chance at proving they're worth the hype.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm just looking forward to nabbing a big fucking greasy old school slice because that does not exist up here in the PNW. It's one of those things that East Coast pizza lovers take for granted. Perfect thin crust, just the right amount of cheese & sauce...

You can go to that orgasm harry met sally restaurant. Or get some seriously good fancy food in the city. I'd look more for the bagels.

One of my fondest memories while visiting NYC one time was eating a hot plain slice outside of Joe's on a cool autumn evening.

The bigger question is where do I buy shirts, pants, socks, etc since my suitcase is still sitting at home and I am now half way there.

i've learned over the years that the better of any food product is consistently in the oldest, smallest location. if you can find a pizza joint that's been around for 40 years out of a counter that is directly behind a single door, with barely enough room to stand at the counter, it will be good.
