Hey guys, haven't been on forums for over a year but wanted to drop in. Glad to see the ESC community is still alive and kicking.

Still have my TQ250 (rev2) + Procede and no issues over the last 3 years . Aside from one battery replacement. I'm actually surprised the electrical components have held up so well given the extreme heat under the hood.

Definitely consider it to be one of the most cost beneficial mods for your overall car experience.

Since there is a lot to read I figured I might just ask, is the PC680MJ still the recommended battery for the starter and dump packs? I might need to replace one of them soon. Thanks!

I've been very happy with my kit since installing it in June. It's the latest v3 system with the 5kW motor and controller. Virtual dyno runs show around 200wtq which is pretty much perfect.

To whom it may concern:

As you can see by my parts installed/mods list I am a serious driver in search of BOOST!

Having followed this thread (read all 529 pages) and other associated Phantom threads since I decided to buy my BRZ in mid 2016 I keep hoping a big batch will be produced or production will start because of demand. It seems that the system is fairly stable and only a few individuals have problems so I would like to know from the members directly involved if they consider this 'still in development' or is it just a crippled duck that will never fly? A reply here is not necessary but an honest PM from a high principle party would be nice.

Since I purchased my BRZ new last year I have spent $9,268.88 according to my spreadsheet on modding my car and not one thing is cosmetic. (I only list drive train mods because of limited space, other suspension mods, gauges, cameras, safety items, etc. not listed)
I don't want a turbo for a variety of reasons and no existing supercharger checks all the boxes for me either.

It is such a shame that the Phantom is still made of unobtainium ( a highly desirable material that is hypothetical, scientifically impossible, extremely rare, costly, or fictional, or has some of these properties in combination. )

About two and a half years ago I got my name on the list. (I'm still only like halfway down the list)

After a few months I realized this wasn't realistically going to happen and went with a Jackson Racing supercharger. Very happy about that decision!

It's too bad though as this definitely has potential. There'd be a decent market for it if it ever happened! I still check back in every 6 months or so just to see what's going on.....and again....nothing

Would Rob just sell this project/research off to another company/individual? Is the tech just not quite there yet for mass market? I'm confused on why something with such market potential has not yet materialized.

Here are two virtual dyno plots I made with some runs I have done over the last two years on the same stretch of road. The first shows a recent test with a tune essentially identical to the base ESC tune. The run to run variance is due to a varying strong headwind that day. This tune is very conservative and I'm certain there is a good amount more to be had.

The second plot shows a comparison between the ESC, the car with only an ACE 350 exhaust header and tune, and finally completely stock with the stock tune (IAM was 1). This is all with 94 octane gas.

Edit: In the comparison image the blue run (ESC v1 ex-3) is the Phantom ESC, the red run (v35) is with the ACE 350 header and custom tune, and the green (STOCK) is a completely stock run.

Forget graphs, here's a video

Also this is with sorta lazy shifting while holding a phone, definitely could be quicker. Also with this cold weather coming up, I'm stoked to try E85 out some more. This was on 92oct

Dude that is seriously fast, glad everything is working great for you!

That final drive ratio is awesome!

Hi guys
Is there a way to test the system when it's not installed in a car? Can I connect the batteries directly to the turbine or something like that

the turbine is 3 phase, so it has to run off of the controller. you pretty much have to assemble everything. You could just lay it out on a bench and hook it up to a spare battery or something. It doesn't have to be hooked up to the car or any of it's systems besides the power.

For the Phantom ESC run is this with stock header or the ACE 350 as well?
