Fortune Auto 550 review

Hey everybody, I just installed some brand new fortune auto 550s and figured I'd give an initial review. These are TH motorsports exclusive coilovers and I think I'm the first to review them and might be one of the first to have them.

So, the reason I chose these coilovers were because of the quality of fortune autos coilovers and price can't be beat. I have a bunch of friends who run their 500 series and have had nothing but great feedback. Many of them autox, do track days and daily drive their cars on the 500s. I was going to go with the 500s but learned of the 550s through a vendor on here. Basically the 550s are custom built already to spec and are a slight step up from the 500s... So no 3 week wait time for them to be built.

Okay, on to the review...

The initial impression was quality. The coilovers look like much more expensive coilovers. The 550s come hand numbered on each coilover and they give you a certificate of authenticity. I can't speak a whole lot of the performance as of yet but will be updating. I have the dampening set it the middle and the ride is a little firm but not too harsh for daily driving. The spring rates are 8k/9k. I will be doing autox and track days in the near future so will be posting updates when I have a review. But, so far I am happy with my Purchase.

Wish I would have known about these before I ordered my 500's. Though I don't have any complaints. They look good!

$1399 SHIPPED. The price is pretty locked.

These aren't another BC clone. A LOT of research and development went into getting these right so they are more and they ARE worth it.

I can't wait to hear what he has to say on them. He was one of the first ones to get them (as you can see form the number). Bad or good I hope he gives us a review.

are swift springs an option? and what's different from a 500 or 510? just custom valving to match the spring rates? is it the same thing as DSG's special edition 500?

I wanted to give an update on these. Sorry it has taken me so long. Ive done several autocrosses and a few long road trips. No complaints at all really. As you would expect based on the spring rates they are a little firm and not the most comfortable ride if you have bad roads in your area. But, who buys coilovers for comfort?

For aggressive handling on backroads and the autocross course is where the 550s shine. I have no other suspension upgrades and they perform very well alone. I am on Pilot Super Sport tires and with those the grip and handling is great. Im running about -3 degrees of camber all around. I don't have the drop slammed but if i wanted to there is plenty of room to go lower.

All in all Im super happy with purchasing these coilovers. The fortune auto quality is great and the performance seems to match that. I will be doing some track days in the future and will post up more reviews as i go along.
