Another dutch pricing "confirmation"

The official dutch toyota website is saying it will be available mid 2012 for around 40.000 euros:

http://www.toyota.nl/cars/coming_soon/gt_86/index.aspx

See bottom of the article.

Pricey...

For reference, dutch car prices to compare (in euros):
  • Peugeot RCZ - 1.6 turbo 200hp - starting 35.300
  • Hyundai Genesis Coupe - 2.0 turbo 230hp - starting 42.000
  • Renault Clio RS - 2.0 200hp - starting 30.000
  • Renault Megane RS - 2.0 turbo 250hp - starting 33.000

Pricey comparing to those FWD cars, but the price undercuts GC.

Strange prices. So different compared to France.
  • Hyundai Gensis Coupé 2.0T 32.990 €
  • Peugeot RCZ 1.6 TPH 31.700 €
  • Renault Mégane RS 29.500 €
  • Renault Clio RS 23.700 €

No way the GT86 can cost more than the Mégane RS otherwise it will fail. Here in EU we are used to FWD and the Renault is the fastest FWD. French even hate RWD cars.

Prices in Germany are

Hyundai see above
Peugeot RCZ 1.6 TPH 27.650 €
Renault Mégane RS 27.290 €
Renault Clio (Gordini) RS 19.900 €

but comparing to the first post I think GT86 will be round about 30K € (hopefully fully equipped) in Germany.

Toyota North America(Im in Canada) better wise up

If they price it over 25k without shipping and all the other bs, i'll take my moneys and pimp out my AE86 and get a few year old RX8.

I'm starting to get pretty annoyed with not knowing the prices.

This is not a 35K car, i know the dutch price has no correlation to US prices, but just putting my thoughts out there.

$40,000 Euros = $50,570 USD
