I was thinking of antimatter more of as a catalyst than a fuel, but I do see your point on both.

See I view the matter as the catalyst since it is common and the antimatter as the actual fuel since it is not. I suppose that since the two must be combined to create the energy then they are both the fuel and catalyst at the same time.

worst part is "refilling" so to speak. the tech would have to get a lot better because people aren't going to wait 7hrs to charge their Leaf or 20-75min to charge their Tesla in the middle of the day and there are tons of people that can't plan 2 inches in front of their face.

Unlikely. Coal is down to about 25% of power production in the US, and it's still dropping. Coal is expensive, filthy dirty to land, air, and water, dangerous to mine, and basically sucks in 100 different ways. My cars are charged with solar, NG, and nuclear, but mostly with NG. Why not solar? During the night, the NG plants have to run a baseline of power. All these EVs are basically making use off that baseline, using little more than would have been produced without the cars existing at all.
wrong. it's a scientific fact.

In the United States, coal provides about 50% of the electricity that is used every day, which is equivalent to about 1 billion tons of coal used for electricity every year. Luckily, the U.S. has over 250 billion tons of coal in reserves within the country.
go sit down and shut up boy.

I'm reeeally cautiously optimistic about the Obiwan, one (heh?).

There's a series of YA books (yeah, I know, young adult stories aren't always great) that really covered his backstory in a fun way. It probably wouldn't really work unless they used flashbacks because that story takes place mostly when he's at the academy as an apprentice.

Maybe they'll bring in some elements from it at least.

I missed out on the 3 year deal but I'll sub anyway. It's a fantastic price for such a huge library of content.

I'm reading that some of the current (pun intended) electric cars can't be fast charged.. Dieselgate all over again because the effing tree huggers can't see beyond their fucking trees...

I could ask you to define "efficiency gains" and then describe to you how that is not an adequate description and then blah blah blah...

I'd rather spend my time actually solving problems than talking in circles. I will leave you with this though. The point I am making is that the CA government is attempting to exert it's will over the rest of the country by dangling it's citizens' money in front of organizations whose nature is to pursue money. That bypasses the core concept of the US Constitution where power is derived from representation of the people.

Correct not all cars can be L3 fast charged, they have to be designed for it. I think most cars for sale now that have any decent range are L3 capable but some of the older ones with short ranges may not be.

Americans make too many buying decisions based on the apocalypse. Also, with solar and batteries, I'll be able to charge my car while you'll be out of gas after a week or two.

I said fuck these car companies. It was car focused. I talked about the science. When people call mainstream science politics, something stupid is going on.

Did you just quote a random wordpress blog at me?

Coal was at 27.5% for 2018, but most coal is in the midwest. It's nowhere close to where most EV owners are.

More recent statistics showing renewable gains and coal cuts.

CA didn't make ~14 other jurisdictions follow CA's rules. They chose to adopt CA's rules. That's free choice. If the market then decides to go 100% with that choice, that's market forces, not some evil exertion of force from afar. If the federal government and all these car makers work together to remove California's ability to take care of its own air quality, the federal government and these car companies are telling Californians to get cancer, lung disease, and heart disease then die. They're especially telling this to central valley farm workers, who have to deal with the pollution more than anyone. Call it a death panel. I think that's a term popular among certain snowflakes who make up shit and learn their reality from a TV network.

My real plan for the apocalypse is to be one of the first to go. Fallout is a fun game to play, but don't think I want the real life version....
