shop's don't usually carry parts.. they have to order them also, so regardless, you'll be waiting on shipping...

let me know what you need, i can suggest some places that ship pretty quick and for the best prices lol i've bought everything for my car online

the one time i let someone order something for me.. they unnecessarily overnighted it for $60 plus the part itself was more expensive...

They won't cover the damage. At all, actually. The rocker panel is pushed in, but the pinch-weld and everything directly under/behind it is perfectly fine (read: not even scratched), as is the door.

I'm dropping the car off at our friend's body shop Saturday. Sucks, especially since the car just rolled 8k miles on the Kerrville run I did last weekend, and I've put in two claims already: Windshield is getting replaced tomorrow, and now this crap. Poor car. Finally got a fun car that I love the looks of, it's "done" but still has so much potential, and is slow enough to not be completely useless on the street, then I go and put a big ole dent in it. Worst part is that I wasn't even playing around when this happened.

I had shop vac fall off a shelf onto my previous car 3 weeks after I purchased it. It's not fun having a car get beat up, especially with low miles.

Got a winter related question for those of you guys with the STI full lip kit (or really any lip kit for that matter. How much contact should I be expecting this winter from ice piles in the road, and what kind of damage if any does it cause? I'm not planning on driving full throttle into an ice hill, but last winter (reference polar vortex) when it got real bad up here, the ice that was pushed towards the middle of the lanes was getting pushed and scooped by the front (stock, "chin" part). I'm not asking for a weather prediction, but I just got my STI kit in and am wondering if I should wait until the winter is finished with its BS...

What does waiting accomplish? There's always another winter, so for me you can take that out of the decision. Maybe post this question to a group in the north that deal more with this scenario? In Texas ice build up like last year is rare.

I agree, I wouldn't make a decision based on random winter storms in Texas.

That being said I have already bought my studded snow tires and will be putting them on this weekend, as well as putting some weights into the trunk.
