Well ofcourse... I can very well go out and get a foxbody stang and whoop all your asses for next to nothing. But that's not the point. It's depressing to know that if you're wanting anything over a puny 300whp, you're looking at a fully built low compression motor. However, the beauty of this motor is the architecture. It's definitely worth building in the long run due to its awesome design.

Makes you wonder... for the investment into the frs including the price of the car to make it somewhat fast, you're at mustang 5.0 gt prices which do 12's stock lol. But again, 1/4 mile isn't for this car. However, it is interesting to see what it can do down the dragstrip.

Yeah I have friends with fast mustangs. Guess which one I'd rather take to work in the morning

Take an N/A MR2 and see how much it would cost it to get into the 12's...

Lol! Why bother when you got the turbo option...

Although, a built turbo BEAMS 3sge would be pretty badass over the regular normal 3sgte with no vvti. Likely would cost as much as a built turbo fa20. Maybe a bit less since the fa20 is still new and still developing.

Either way, Crawford already proved the boost loving nature of these fa20's. Mine will ultimately be boosted down the road. I'm still not done tinkering with the mr2 so it will be a while before the frs sees boost. However, it sucks to know that a turbo kit on the stock motor running 94 octane will only get me as fast as the mr2 with the boost turned up. Pretty big investment looking for 400whp on pumpgas 93 with the frs which is why I'm just gonna stick to tinkering with the mr2 for now.

First chance at the 1/4 for me.
Fa20club 60 trim with 550cc injectors
JR Tuned
361/270

265/35/18 Dunlop Z2's

Plenty of room for improvement, it was an interesting learning experience, being that it was my first time really getting to play with the car, and launching, and my frustrations with the short gearing and having to shift into 5th

1/4 mile times

That's why I went with a 26" tall tire although 3.73 gears are in my future. Good to see you having fun on the track, it's addicting isn't it

You should take the frs to the track . These cars shine at the track and honestly I never knew how fast this car could be before I did.

Gave me a whole new outlook on the car. I've realised its pretty pointless to try to get a whp or 1/4 mile number with this car, this car is built for something else which is altogether more fun IMO . Now that's without saying its good to gauge the speed of a car in a straight line and I'm sure I'll have a few trips to the drag strip as is the point of this thread. I'm actually impressed with a lot of the numbers posted here which proves the FR-S can be very fast in the 1/4 as well seems a lot are just having traction issues.

Tl;dr I think the fr-s should be appreciated for every thing it offers not just straight line. If you want to go fast in the straight line its going to cost more than most other cars esp. since its N/A from the factory for $24k new. But for a budget (new) track & DD car it really shines.

That's the single most reason why I got the FRS. It will be my road course car. I have no desire to lap with the mr2 now that I have the FRS. The FRS is on another level of handling.

The best pass so far that I know of was done by Accelerated Performance running 11.3 @ 127 mph with street tires! I'm a huge fan of drag racing with street tires. "Run it like how you drive it everyday/rain or shine". I think they did it pretty good considering they are buying time on a high boosted e85 setup, stock powertrain + turbo system, fuel, software, etc.; they actually did pretty good!

Sadly, no e85 for me.

Would be nice to see that daily on pumpgas 94... would need the proper motor though.

Stock tires? They don't look stock to me.

1/4 mile times

I believe he was running a drag radial and his fastest to date was 11.1 not 11.3. I made my pass on dot drag radials as well, possibly full slick next year...... Does anyone know what the quickest pass is on pump gas, not e85?

Correction. I don't think he was on a street tire.

A tune on E85, not a fully built low compression motor. No E85, then get PTunings Water/Meth injection kit.

I believe we still hold the stock motor 1/4 mile record... I don't think Don ever went back out to the track last year after his 11.3 pass. And then our local tracks down for winter and we decided to pull the motor to build it...
