Dating in your 30s is like visiting the clearance aisle in Vons after thanksgiving and hoping you find something not expired and usable but not seasonal rejects.

We where talking about dating into the 30s and I was reading some realization articles that I'm not the only one (male here). when you get closer to 30 (27-29) you realize that:
1 its hard to meet other women naturally (no school or collective groups to be in and out of)
2 you are less concerned about sex and more about intimacy and trust (there's actually money in my bank account)
3 this is a self development. after years of depression, and angst brought on by mismanagement of dating and years of playing the field (back in the ole highschool days I was talking to like 5 girls at once? )and fostering a lack of commitment. I realized I have an emotional detachment issue and the current girl I am "dating" I really don't care if tomorrow we broke up... and I might actually want to.

Nice simile. I fucking love clearance shopping.

Seemed like a ripoff. I have a pretty dense piece of foam for a mattress now, with a foam wedge for my legs. My back really appreciates it. Also separate twin beds, basically a king, allows true differentiation in mattress type.

ugh...got pulled over at 620am this morning by a member of my local law enforcement in one of the small municipalities I drive through on my way to work. I was driving the Suburban today because I have to put some miles on it to get it "ready for emissions testing" after having the O2 sensor replaced.

That particular town has an area of less than two city blocks where the speed limit drops from 45 to 30 then back to 40 and I'm always careful going through.

When the lights came on behind me my first thought was "crap, did I miss the zone?" but no I was travelling at about 30 in the area.

Pulled into a lot, turned off the car, rolled down the windows, put the keys on the dash and waited for the officer (took about 2 minutes but felt like 20).

Officer (looked about 16 and a linebacker for his high school team): "Could I see your license please?"

Me: "Of course, its in my wallet in my pocket, getting it now"

Officer: " I'll be back" (yes, he actually said that)

5 minutes later (seemed like an hour)

Officer: "Sir, do you know your license plate light is out? We need that to be able to see your plate when it's dark."

Me, slightly relieved "No sir, I didn't but thank you for letting me know."

Officer: "No problem. If you go to Autozone or someplace like that they'll change it for you."

Me: "I'll get it taken care of right away"

Officer: "You have a good day now"

No fix-it ticket or anything which was nice. The aggravating thing was I just changed out the taillights on Sunday, installing all new fixtures with built-in LEDs and actually meant to check the license plate bulbs. They are at least 7 years old and maybe older (it's a 2004 and I've had it since 2012 but never changed them)

Lesson learned, if you think you should check something, check it.

The light very well may be out, but don't be surprised if it isn't. Driving the speed limit through the revenue generation zone probably made the car more suspicious than someone who speeds.

it's amazing how conflict free an interaction with a cop can be if you don't start cussing at them or punch them in the face.

small town in Cobb County?
