Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

I dunno, I guess it was OK for it's time. However I'm used to living with many of them after they've racked up 150k+ and they suck at that point. Oil leaks everywhere, vacuum leaks, noisy valvetrain, and rod/crank bearings that are ready to spin if you don't monitor oil consumption with a microscope. And they make **** for power unless you buy an unobtanium Hasselgren FA version.

i think it was a cool engine for 83 or whenever it came out. i have no idea why it would be put in an frs but i really liked it in my corolla and it was neat in my mr2 also.

Well alot of engines don't even make 150k+ so saying it's poorly engineered is an overstatement.
